Integra with vista?
#1
I seem to have got excited about the fact that the new and much more nicely priced Integra goggles supposedly have compatibility with the Vista. Or was that excitement premature and in actuality they are not compatible (or not yet)?

Assuming what I heard was correct, then it leads me to the second problem, in that I assumed that since the two devices was not connecting it was due to older firmware. So I immediately updated the goggles to the latest firmware, and upon attempting the same with the vista everything failed.

the upgrade on the 'DJI air lite' goes as planned from xxxx0.0608 to xxxx1.0 and it begins downloading.  It gets to 99% and either stalls there entirely or changes to Upgrade, with a big red '!' and a retry button, at 0%.

I've been able to run through this 5-6 times with no differences witnessed aside from it maybe stalling at 99% or going quickly to the ! page.

Each time I have disconnected the power and tried again, sometimes reloading the DJI assistant software as well.
Each time it boots with a red light that quickly turns green, looks all good.
Each time I have kept it with a cool fan blowing over it.
One time I even put it in the fridge for a half hour to be extra sure (Caddx recommendation..)

Any ideas with this?? So sad. The quad is all good and ready to go, minus the VTX.

Yes, the DJI Goggles Integra should work fine with a Caddx Vista / RunCam Link when everything is updated to the latest firmware versions.

If you are having trouble completing the firmware update to the Vista then I would just try again later in case there are currently some issues with the DJI servers. Maybe also temporarily switch off the firewall and virus scanner on your computer just while you are attempting the update.

If you have fpv.wtf root hack and WTFOS installed then uninstall WTFOS and try updating the firmware again.

Which version of the DJI Assistant 2 are you using - the DJI FPV Series one or the Consumer Drone Series version?

I was able to download the file quite quickly (and was simultaneously able to easily update the goggles themselves). Also tested on another computer, and with/without vpns set up.

This is a brand new vista -- so no hack set up (yet!)

I did this in the consumer drone series. As far as I can tell the FPV one hasn't been updated in years.

I also tried to refresh the existing x.608 firmware and it was the exact same problem, getting to 99% and the error.

Also tried a few other USB cables.

EDIT: this is for v2 goggles not goggles 2, as pointed out below, so disregard, sorry!

joshua bardwell has a PSA from yesterday on his livestream clips page about the newest version of goggles 2(and integra) firmware not being vista compatible. Apparently DJI is dropping the vista in the sense that if you update your goggles to the newest version, you can't bind a vista anymore.

As for the updates erroring out at 99%, i have no idea at all unfortunately

edit: this is the video im referencing:

In that video at 0:27 they specifically say the issue is goggles V2, not goggles 2, so I don't think this video is relevant to integra not binding with vista.

I've never had any problems flashing new firmware or refreshing the same firmware version to an Air Unit / Vista. I had it stick a few times at 95% on a Vista, but making sure the Vista had good airflow over it and retrying again always then resulted in a successful firmware flash.

Do you have any other Vistas you can try refreshing the firmware on? If you do and that works it will rule out any issues with your computer, internet connection, or cables.

I suspect you may have some kind of hardware issue with the Vista. I would contact the vendor who you bought the Vista from, or Caddx support.

BTW, just so you are aware, if you do manage to update any of your Vistas to work with your DJI Goggles Integra they will no longer work with DJI FPV Goggles V1/V2. Firmware versions <=01.00.06.08 only work with DJI FPV Goggles V1/V2 and firmware versions >01.00.06.08 only work with DJI Goggles 2 and DJI Goggles Integra. Also, once you are on a firmware version >01.00.06.08, the fpv.wtf hack and WTFOS is irrelevant because that hack only works and is only relevant with firmware versions 01.00.06.06 and 01.00.06.08 when used with the DJI FPV Goggles V1/V2.

Hey everyone,
bit of a ridiculous update here. I managed to get the Caddx vista BACK to shenzhen, to their HQ. They checked it, said no problem and said they updated it themselves and sent it back to me. I finally got around to testing it today, and ----- nope. They apparently did not update it like they said. And Still the same error if I attempt to update it. I also installed the latest july release to test as well; same issue.

To make things even more interesting, I picked up a new EXTRA vista and set it up as well, same exact issue.

Wtf is going on? Beyond the fact that caddx didn't do what they said, the fact that I'm getting this error on two units would mean something else is going on. I've even tested on a different computer and same results. I'm really at a loss on this one.
Any help appreciated!

I'm pretty much out of ideas. Maybe it's an ISP specific issue where they are blocking the destination server IP address for some reason. Have you tried using a different ISP? If you have a friend who uses a different ISP then ask if you can make use of their internet connection, otherwise try taking your laptop somewhere that you can get access to public WiFi network and try using that.

woah. Fixed!!

I tried a few other internet connections; and then spoke with caddx, who said nothing and then realized it was actually a runcam-branded vista, so passed me off to them. Runcam responded in 3 second with having me change to the DJI assistant FPV-edition. That worked right away!
