How to connect R-XSR receiver directly to Wizard X220?
#1
Hey everyone,
I just received my new FrSky receiver and don't know what to do with it XD. I know that I'm gonna have to solder something, but I'm not sure where to start? Thanks for any input on this!

What FC are you using? They probably have a diagram that shows how to connect it. You basically need three wires: 5V, GND, and SBUS.

SPRacing F3. After looking through the manual I think I found it.

Is it something on this page?

When you say you "found it"? Do you still need help or you found the answer to the question.

Still not quite. However there's a few ports that say Uart 3, a negative sign, a positive sign and then a TX and RX right next to it. Is this where I put the ground, vcc and sbus cables?

That link you posted is a file on your local computer, no one outside of yourself can access it.  Here's a picture of the SPRF3.  If you are using PPM you use IO1 pins 1 2 and 3.  If you use SBUS you use IO2 pins 1 2 and 3.

You can use UART3 for your Frsky receiver. Or you can use what cjmack suggested.

So from receiver to FC
5V to VCC
Ground to ground
SBUS to RX

cjmack is the OP.

Then I think you will need to configure it in Betaflight, i.e. tell the flight controller which port you are using for your receiver and which protocol it uses.

I noticed on my "Flysky radio that when I went into freq settings I could change between Ibus and SBus. If you can do this as well on your Frsky then you might be able to use IBus.

No, they are different protocols. sBus is an inverted signal and iBus isn't.  Interestingly enough, you can pull an uninverted sBus signal from an FRSky receiver but it still doesn't make it an iBus signal.  Rather than confuse you, here's a great tutorial that Oscar did on different signals and protocols
