How Broken Rx Antenna affect the Range?
#1
I had got a new Flit10 Rx which can get RSSI.
Unfortunately while installing the Rx, I had broken the antennas.
I did solder them but it affected the range very badly.

Lucky they are easy to change on most RX's! I have sheered and disconnected RX antenna while flying around scraggle and it usually results in RXLOSS.

What RX does your aircraft have?

OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun!  Addicted :)

Which of below antennas suits most?

I will have to remove the connector and solder them direct.

You are probably looking for something like this.

Where did you break the antenna. If the antenna is intact, you can just restrip the antenna and resolder. It is the end of the antenna that does the receiving.

Attached pic explaining where I broke the antennas.

I was considering this slim ones (the one without that cylindrical thing) against what you suggested as they are light weight.
Will there be any advantage in using the ones your suggested?

Mine is 2 inch micro quad, anywhere between 100m to 200m range is good enough for me.

Each receiver is designed to use a specific antenna, so swapping might not give you the optimal reception. If you want to experiment, you can.

What is important is the length of that thin cable you broke. You want to make sure the length is the same as your other antenna. For standard 1/4 wavelength, it should be 31.23mm.

The cyclider you see is call a balun, and it purpose is to block out stuff you don't need. I don't quite understand balun too well.
