Now the x7 wont turn on. I push and hold the power button and all I get is the back light and the power button is red until I release it. I can get it into bootleg mode but thats about it. Ive attempted re flashing it with opentx but with no progress. • Posts: 21,417 Threads: 596 Likes Received: 9,039 in 6,690 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 796 18-Jan-2023, 06:45 PM (This post was last modified: 18-Jan-2023, 06:53 PM by SnowLeopardFPV. Edit Reason: Additional info added. ) You might have a corrupt bootloader. Leave your QX7 switched off and simply just plug a USB cable into it. Then run OpenTX Companion and select the option to flash firmware to the transmitter. You will see the flashing progress appear in a dialog box on the screen. Doing it that way will (re)flash both the bootloader and OpenTX to the latest versions. If that doesn't work, open up the transmitter case and re-seat the button cell RTC battery on the mainboard by removing and refitting it. While you have it out, measure the voltage to check that it's reading 3.3V. If it is only reading 3V or lower then replace it with a new one. • Posts: 20 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 0 (18-Jan-2023, 06:45 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: You might have a corrupt bootloader. Once I get home ill replace it and keep my fingers crossed. Thank you for the advice. • Posts: 20 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 0 (18-Jan-2023, 06:45 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: You might have a corrupt bootloader. After trying to flash with opentx it says successful but then under it it says "no valid DFU suffix signature. Warning: file has no DFU suffix" • Posts: 21,417 Threads: 596 Likes Received: 9,039 in 6,690 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 796 Maybe you are trying to flash the wrong OpenTX firmware to your QX7. What version of the QX7 do you have? Is it the "ACCST" version or the "ACCESS" version? One of those two words will be printed near the bottom right corner of the screen. You need to make sure you are flashing the firmware that matches the type of your specific QX7 (either the ACCT or ACCESS firmware). • Posts: 20 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 0 (18-Jan-2023, 11:50 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: Maybe you are trying to flash the wrong OpenTX firmware to your QX7. When flashing the firmware how do I make sure it is the correct version. Again thank you for the help. • Posts: 21,417 Threads: 596 Likes Received: 9,039 in 6,690 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 796 In OpenTX Companion, from the menu at the top select Settings -> Settings, and when the Edit Settings screen appears make sure you have the Radio Type set as "FrSky Taranis X7 / X7S Access" (there is also another entry without "Access" on the end which isn't compatible with your transmitter). Then when you select to download the firmware it will download the correct firmware file which you can then flash to the transmitter using the same switched off method that I described in my previous post. • Posts: 20 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 0 (19-Jan-2023, 12:11 AM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: In OpenTX Companion, from the menu at the top select Settings -> Settings, and when the Edit Settings screen appears make sure you have the Radio Type set as "FrSky Taranis X7 / X7S Access" (there is also another entry without "Access" on the end which isn't compatible with your transmitter). Now with this do you have any other tips with setting up? • Posts: 21,417 Threads: 596 Likes Received: 9,039 in 6,690 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 796 I guess the next thing to do is to create a new model and then go from there. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to set up and configure OpenTX but the one linked to below is probably as good a place as any to start off with... • Posts: 20 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 0 (19-Jan-2023, 01:05 AM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: I guess the next thing to do is to create a new model and then go from there.
