Hee Wing T1 Ranger

I also think about squeezing more efficiency out of the T1. I also think the two blade LR5126 could be a good thing. But with what motors for 3s? 2004/1700? Or 2203?
Anyone tried that?

So currently I am running stock motors with gemfan 4024 bi blade props. Running a 4200mah 3s1p li ion pack. Using the molicel 21700 cells.

Planes flies good and have plenty of power. I can cruise at 3-4a current draw. This will give me around 45 minutes of flight.

I don't really see the need to add larger motors as it will just increase the weight of the aircraft and the overall current draw.

Does any have a 3D print for the motor mounts? Cheers!

Do you guys know if the stock ESC can handle 4S? I am considering using a 4S lipo and scale down the max throttle to 75% since the motors are only rated for 2S-3S. But not sure about the ESC as it's not mentioned anywhere.

Just finished building mine, I didn't use an FC, just manual flying for now. here's the build log: https://oscarliang.com/hee-wing-t1-ranger-no-fc/
I plan to install iNav in the coming weeks though Smile

I haven't even started mine yet, I was digging through the RCG thread and it was pretty polluted (which I added to at the end).

I am thinking some 1507/3800kv on 4S with some 4 inch props.

The verdict seems out on whether to use 21700s or 18650s for the pack. I haven't even thought about what FC I am going to put in it though.

From the research i have done, it seems you can only fit a 3S 21700 in the fuselage, 4S 21700 doesn't fit but some people claim it works by shaving some foam off the top covers. Most people therefore just either use 3S 21700 or 4S 18650. But if you use 4S 21700 you might have to mount the FC stack in the front and have the battery shifted closer to the CG because it's so heavy. I've seen people getting 40min flight time with just 3S 21700 using the stock motor and 4" props, so maybe that's plenty.

I think 3800KV is too high for 4S (even with 4" props), that's for 3S I think but you can still power it with 4S if you scale down throttle to 75%.

I just order somne 1507 3100kv and planning to run them on 4s1p Molicel 2800mAh.

My question is what prop i should use to slighlty increase the power of the plane and still have the flight times 20-30mins ? what about HQ 4x2.5x3 ?
