Happymodel ELRS EPW5 2.4GHz 5CH Receiver
#1
OK, I have lots of quads working successfully from my Horus X12S with Namimno Module, various Receivers.

Just tried to set up a first fixed wing, using all five channels on the Happymodel ELRS EPW5 2.4GHz 5CH Receiver so it is :-  Ail1/Ele/Thr/Rud/Ail2

It all works as expected with one exception, Channel 5 (Ail2) on power up sets fully one way, and any change to the Ail stick, while proportionally operating Ail1, instantly sends Ail2 fully the other way.

Its settings in the Tx are exactly the same as the other Ail, which works fully proportionally with centre rest, trim adjustable.

Swapped ailerons over, fault transfers, not the servo.

Huh

Ha!

Answering my own question, one channel is NOT proportional (at least as it comes!), effectively as for an arming switch.

Actually very annoying as not at all made clear in any sales info I have read.

SO, Ailerons on a "Y" lead then, and no spolieron/flapperons mixing as I wanted.

That's a definite downer................................  Poop

Ch5/Aux1 on ELRS has always been a 1 bit arm switch. On PWM receivers you can remap any input channel to any output, so just skip channel 5 and use channel 6. You can also map channel 6 in wide mode to throttle so you have two full res channels for the ailerons.

Thank You!

If you come at ELRS from the fixed wing world, and are not using a flight controller, I doubt there's many if any who would expect anything less than five full proportional channels by default.

ELRS v3 has multiple full res options now, 8ch or 16ch modes @ 100Hz or 333Hz. PWM output rate is fully configurable by channel as well. A number of new PWM receiver options are also in development and should be on the market soon.

Thanks again, I must get my second Tx/Module set up on EdgeTX and V3, I'm limited (as yet, AFAIK) to V2 currently as I'm running three of the Whoop 5 way AIO's with ELRS built in, a penalty I was prepared to take to get their use. For example, a NanoLR 3D print quad of mine, once all the jammed in FC, RX, Filter, VTX, Step up, etc were removed for the single much lighter and easier to cool single board was pretty much transformed, so not to be changed until/unless Betaflight updates start handling ELRS updates.

You can run a Betaflight 4.4 development build now, or flash one of the 4.3.1 forks where people have backported ELRSv3 compatibility. I've been running a nightly for several weeks now without issue.

Either download the latest BF Configurator Nightly (https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...220929.170) and flash the development build of 4.4.0 from Sept 12 2022, or download and flash the 4.3.1 fork below:
