So I just finished building my first race drone. Its a 6s setup with a MAMBA 40A f4 stack, Runcam phoenix Oscar. Flew it once, everything worked, but a prop must have been loose and it spun to the ground. Flight controller died from the impact. 

So, I ordered a JBF4 V2, and soldered it all up. Motors, receiver, VTX and OSD all work, but the camera feed doesnt come though. I aslo soldered up an old fatshark camera and got the same results. 

Tried powering the camera off the VTX 5v output, and wiring the camera's video straight to the VTX, black/grey feed. 


My only thought is that both my cameras are dead? Could this be a video format thing or something like that?

You can confirm if the cameras are working by wiring the video out connection from each one to any AV input target (i.e. your goggles with an AV input socket, or a TV with a RCA video input socket). Then apply power to the camera and see if a picture appears.

Sounds like a camera or power supply problem. Have you tried power the Phoenix off the lipo?

Both great ideas. Thanks. I tried to get video to my goggles from both cameras and I couldn’t get any video feed though. Then tried to get it to my tv, no feed. But I also tried pumping my feed from my ps3 into my goggles and that didn’t work either. So maybe I have something wrong still. I’ll going to try powering the runcam straight from the loop. That won’t fry it right?

Straight from the *lipo

Most (if not all) RunCams take LiPo voltage. At least all of the current RunCams take 5-36V input so check the voltage specification next to the voltage input pin on the camera,

This might sound dumb, but I'd also try changing to a different channel on both VTX/VRX and make sure both devices are on the same channel. And also try different antennas. You can try this if voltage wasn't the issue.
