GPS Issue
#1
Having an issue in BF 4.4.2 where GPS will drop out for a split second every couple seconds or so and then immediately recover. However, if I connect via gpspassthrough to U-Center, gps fix is looks solid with no dropouts, so I'm thinking BF setting or issue???

Messed with a few settings but I'm new to the hobby and this is my first Quad of any sort and have only had it a few weeks, suffice to say I apparently don't have enough luck or know-how to resolve it. Also, it's an M10 GPS on an iFlight BNF and I've reached out to them as well, but I only mention that because I would think everything would be soldered and connected/tested well from a professional company, but anything's possible I guess.

I've only found this one reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/fpv/comments/wp...&context=3) from almost a year ago where someone was describing the exact same issue but haven't seen a resolution anywhere yet.

Makes me concerned as it disables GPS Rescue briefly, and also makes it annoying as heck to arm since it cancels the arming sequence if it drops out during that 1 second delay between flipping the arm switch and actual arming... which happens a LOT... Like it'll take me 8+ tries to time it correctly a lot of the time. Anyway, here's an example vid of the issue...

My two guesses would have to be an intermittent connection loss that's too brief to notice at first glance, or your minimum sats value is set really high.

Min sats is set to 8, and it's varying between like 18 - 22, so I wouldn't think that would be it. I can't really rule out a connection issue, just seems like U-Center would have an issue as well if that were the case, but who knows, perhaps that software handles that type of thing better. My guess was maybe some sort of speed mismatch or something, but that's just a wild ass guess.

Could always test continuity while bending/wiggling your wires around. Honestly, I'm just as confused as you.

Actually, I may have just resolved it.... I hooked it up to U-Center and did a factory reset on it and it seems to be much more well behaved, on the bench at least. Will need to give it a rip next chance I get and see how she does.
