GPS Coordinates on Taranis radio
#1
I have a Taranis X9D plus 2019 transmitter
I am using a TBS crossfire micro TX V2 with
TBS crossfire Nano RX
When I look at my telemetry GPS it only shows
Degrees minutes N Degrees minutes W but no seconds
Under telemetry
When I display GPS on my display screen it only shows Degrees Minutes but no seconds that does not help when I try to find a lot FW why is it not showing DMS that is what is set in my model radio setup.
In my googles it shows Latitude and longitude in decimal degrees. Is it the radio settings or crossfire RX or can it be the PyroDrone BN-880 flight control GPS Module W/Compass.
Why don’t it show DMS or just decimal degrees ?
I don’t know if the decimal degrees is equal to DMS or just DM and no S.

Not sure if the sensor display can be tweaked. Maybe a space issue on the display. But, have a look in the opentx log file (you need to activate it in the special functions to record opentx logs on your x9d. I couple it with my arming switch). The log file includes the full location as transmitted by your fc.
Maybe thats a workaround if there is no other solution....

I can’t remember correctly but in the Radio or Model settings for OpenTX, you should have the option to change GPS coordinates from DMS to NMEA which will show you Degree Decimals.
NMEA=Degree Decimals
DMS= Degrees Minutes Seconds

jasc,
Thanks for the info about record opentx logs I set it up and it does show coordinates in degrees decimal.
It creates one file per model and I think it overwrite the file every time you arm so you don’t run out of space on the SD card. I think that’s how it works. Thanks again

Kafie 1980,
In the radio settings you can change coordinates to DMS or NMEA when I do it nothing changes it still shows DM and N or W with no decimals in the minutes.
It might be a space issue but don’t know how to fix it.
Thanks for your input

I have set both Betaflight and OpenTX to show coordinates in NMEA and its working. These are my LR build pics using xf nano, I had covered the additional info after the decimal place: https://imgur.com/a/DsJ9sY7

On your radio> telemetry page, can you see the raw coordinates coming in?

I use the iNav Lua telemetry script to read coordinates, I am wondering if thats auto converting the coordinates from DMS to DD.
