I am trying to turn my FS-i6 transmitter into a 10 channel one using this mod.  I followed  link and followed the steps downloading the correct .exe file for the programmer.  I also installed the driver to my PC but it did not show up in Device Manager.  I am using the connector purchased here.  Inside the programmer app, I could open COM3, but the version number wouldn't show up in the bar and it would give me an error when I clicked program.  Is there something else I can do?  Please help.

I did this mod time ago, I'm afraid the cable you're using is not the right one. The one for firmware upgrade is this:

You can try building your own cable, I just find the one in the link easier
