The output power of the Foxeer Reaper Extreme 2.5W VTX seems to be reasonably close to it's stated specs. Wezley Varty will be doing some long range testing with this soon.

Not quite 2.5W, but within the ballpark, especially given the accuracy of the IMRC power, and the attenuator.

So the range "rule" I go by...
(assuming 10db+ antenna and -98db receiver)

25mw 1km
100mw 2km
400mw 4km
1600mw 8km

so.. the extra power has very little benefit.
2500mw... 10km

2.4Ghz doubles your range. 1.3Ghz doubles again

I am mostly interested in comparing it to the rush tank solo. This one is going on a 6" chimera build, so 10km probably isnt real anyways.

Sure for range, but what about clarity and closer range through obstacles such as trees and solid objects, that extra power may give you a cleaner signal than 1W or 1.6W flying down rivers or in forests, for examples. I've got a TBS unify pro 32 HV, and a Mamba 1W to compare it to when I get one, be interesting to see.

Anyone actually get one of these? I only see a handful of videos online from regular customers. Nowhere in stock and no ETA so I just ordered one from Foxeer using slow boat shipping.

I'm hoping to kit out my ultralight Shinobi with it for proper (sorta) long range. Yes, no more HDZero for that. It's nice and all but unless you are willing to lug around that heavy 1-watt, it's really got no business being in even a sorta-long-range build.

FYI, there is now a preset in Betaflight 4.3 for the Foxeer 5.8G Reaper Extreme 2.5W VTX that will automatically apply the correct VTX table settings.

I have one that I got from Defiance RC, but I see they are on pre-order now. I have not had a chance to get it into a quadcopter yet, so I cannot speak about that.
