Flywoo 1S Nano Baby Need ESC Firmware
#1
Hello all.  I am hoping that someone can help me locate the stock ESC firmware for the Flywoo 1S Nano Baby.  This drone was given to me after the previous owner attempted to update the ESC firmware and it stopped working.  Flywoo specifically says not to update the ESC firmware on their site and they even list the correct firmware on their site as O_H_5_REV16_8-48K however this version is not available in BLHeli Configurator as it only goes up to 16.7.  I know that the ESC's are still okay as I can spin the motors up in Betaflight but I can't get the drone to arm.  I am confident I could get it working if I mess with it enough but I am hesitant to try until I get it back to the stock firmware.  Can anyone tell me how I can get the correct firmware?

16_8 gives me an indication that its BLHeli_M a.k.a Jazz Maverick version of the BLHeli_S firmware to enable bi-directional dhsot and rpm filtering.

But BLHeli_M is fairly old and I will recommend BlueJay and from personal tests I love it: https://github.com/mathiasvr/bluejay

While flashing just pay attention to the ESC layout: O_H_5

The layout specifies the board design and deadtime on the ESC.

I actually tried BLHeli_M earlier and it would not give me the 16.8 option either. It skips from 16.7 to 16.9. I am hesitant to run anything but the default firmware due to the big red warning on the Flywoo website about flashing this ESC. I might just flash whatever works though and if it fries then I am only out a free drone. Thanks for looking into it for me.

Well let us hope someone has a copy of the O_H_5_REV16_8-48K .hex that they can share with you.

Or you can email Flywoo support and ask them for their "SPECIAL" firmware.

The firmware is on the support page: https://flywoo.tawk.help/article/cli-for...uad-series

Regardless, I would also recommend flashing Bluejay. On 1S AIO boards, you just want to make sure you DO NOT have a battery plugged in while flashing ESC firmware to prevent burning out the ESC.

I am on my second of these, tried Updating the ESC to BluJay and fried it, you can not update these ESCs. The last owner probably put you in the hole $80.00 for another. Or you can just put a Different AIO now.

Thanks for that. I had not thought to look at the Firefly support page as it is technically a different model. That got it working immediately. It is flying now.

As long as you didn't try flashing the ESC with a battery connected, and flashed the correct ESC firmware version, it should be fine. Why do you think it is fried?

I could not get the ESC's to flash without the battery connected but it is working fine now. Once this weather breaks I can test it out more but some hovering in the apartment worked fine.

I have never heard its possible to flash BLHeli without battery.. its a given.

If you have bad BLHeli or a shorted FET, after it restarts, when it does the chime, it will short and fry a motor.
So, if you want to be extra cautious, you can de-solder 2 of 3 motor wires (obviously no current possible with 1 wire).

I was using the Jazz 16.9 BLHeli_M on all my 3", 4", 5" toothpicks (flashed with the forked custom configurator).
Maybe 2 months ago, I started upgrading to BlueJay - but I feel its about 95% same, except you get cool startup tone.

I took the Nano Baby out today and flew the snot out of it. I am amazed at how well it flew. It is so small I was putting it through my whoop gates with ease. Killer flight time on a 1S 550 too. Thanks again for the help. The patient seems to have pulled through.
