FIX: FrSky & Jumper TX Joystick Connectivity Issue for Simulators Under Windows 10
#1
If you recently started getting Joystick connectivity issues with your favourite simulator when using a FrSky or Jumper TX as a joystick device via USB then and are tearing your hair out, it seems that Microsoft broke something in the new libusb-win32 drivers that were rolled out a few days ago in one of the latest windows updates.

See the following video for how to fix the issue. This fix is for any of the simulators, not just VelociDrone. If the "Roll Back Driver" button is greyed out then see the following alternative solution for that...

https://batcavegames.freshdesk.com/suppo...op-working

And for those who prefer to read text than watch a video, the Liftoff Team have produced a PDF document detailing the same fix HERE.

I'm was about to lose my friggin mind! Thank you for the help.

If roll back driver is greyed out, check the Youtube page for a link on how to manually roll it back.

Back in the game.......woot!

Thank you sir, much obliged!

I started down the FPV rabbit hole back in 2017 then life got in the way so I couldn't get away and fly as much.   With so many brushless toothpicks out now I wanted to get back into it and start flying around and near the house some more.   Tiny whoops scratched that itch for a while, but lacked the power I was enjoying in that first 250mm I built courtesy of Oscar website.  Wealth of information.........

This technology has changed so fast though that I'm sure I'll have lots of questions...............been a while since I've engaged in any forums, so I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone.

Cheers!

Did MS roll it back? I've not had any problems in Velocidrone with a QX7 and a fresh Win10 install.

The ground is for dead people.

I just checked my VS Enterprise subscription download area and the latest available Windows 10 ISO is build 1809 which was published on 17th September. Assuming you used that latest version then it's possibly that the update patch affecting the libusb-win32 drivers didn't quite make it into that updated ISO (or they chose not to include the very latest patches in that release) which means you will likely end up getting it via one of the automatic updates in the coming weeks.

MS usually roll out updates in batches to regions so they don't screw everyone in the world up at the same time. Maybe PCs on UK IP addresses haven't yet been allocated the update. Either that or they already fixed the problem in a superseding patch which has already been rolled out.

I haven't run VelociDrone for a while so I don't know if my PC has been affected yet. I guess I'll find out soon because flying season here is almost over so I'm going to have to break out the sim again soon.

Ouh god..
I spent whole day figuring this out, flashed my OpenTX (had to be done anyways), and only now found out in LiftOff steam discussions about this fix.
Even being here everyday, I some how managed to not see this topic.

Haha, thanks!

The Roll Back Driver option is disabled for me. Everything else is exactly as you described except for that. So, any suggestions on how to roll back the driver without that button?

Yes, see the following link for a solution to that Smile I just added the same link to the first post in case anyone else has the same issue so they don't have to scroll down to this post.

Thank you, this is progress but I'm not out of the woods yet. This only partially worked. Now simulator thinks I'm moving the joysticks like a madman even when I'm not touching them. Even when I play with the settings, there's something happening that's out of control.
