FEELS SO MUCH BETTER
#1
Went and bought a 1.5mm hex key and finally adjusted my DJI FPV controller 2 left gimbal so it doesn't return to center and holds its position.

I already have like 70 hours in sims with the controller behaving as it did on day 1, but instantly this feels better not having no resistance to throttle

Wait, your throttle was self centering?
I don’t think I could fly like that. Glad you got it sorted out.
Dangerous operations.

I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

yah! that's how it comes out the box. With no hex key~!! Went down to Lowes today and got one and adjusted it. It makes sense why the pros prefer it this way.

Why would you want to constantly hold a certain amount of throttle when instead you can just set the gimbal there and leave it. Feels good.

The only time a self centering throttle might be useful, is if you fly 3D and that is too much of a complete mindf**k for me.

Yeah, me too. I’d end up constantly going full throttle into the ground.
Dangerous operations.

The self-centring left stick on the DJI Controller 2 is for use with the flying potato and the Avata when flying them in standard or sport mode where the quad then behaves like a camera drone whereby pushing up on the stick increases altitude and pushing down on the stick reduces altitude (i.e. it's not actually a throttle control stick).

For such an expensive controller I do think it's a bit unreasonable of DJI not to include a hex key in the box.

Agreed. Very cheap of DJI.

plus my local hardware store store didn't sell individual hex keys so had to buy a bundle for $9, which I didn't need Doh

Anyway, onwards on upwards!
