EV800d with Eachine Cvatar
#1
Hi All,

I am a beginner and would like to fly cinematic within houses and bandos.

My current setup is
Eachine Cvatar - 6S
Jumper T Lite Radio - using frysky protocol
EV800D googles

I tried flying on 25mw behind the trees and walls but loose video signal quickly. However there is no failsafe encountered behind trees or walls.

Last option I am thinking is to switch to crossfire or ELRS.

Should I try to switch to 200 mw and also try to replace the antenna on my EV800D?

my current antennas as the stock antenna that comes with the ev800D.

Someone please advise how to improve video reception.

If I do failsafe then I will switch to crossfire.

Use a higher MW than 25 especially for houses and bando's outside.  You need penetration. Make sure the flat antenna on the 800d's is facing the drone as much as possible, make sure you're using the diversity setting on the goggles. Make sure the antenna on the drone is facing upward... Use all the miliwattages bruh! ;D Crank it!

Seriously though 25mw isn't good enough for what you're talking about. However, you're gonna have to deal with a fair bit of break up probably no matter what you do if you're trying to do cinematics of houses. And in a normal house the highest MW usages isn't always best, it causes multipathing. So try as low as possible in THAT situation and work up step by step until it's good.

IDK if you can use betaflight to set up the drone menu to be able to control the MW from the goggles on that particular drone, but if you're gonna be doing that type of flying and switching where you are often you're gonna want access to that easily. But yeah those videos you see where others do it, you might be surprised how much break up they're dealing with in some parts of the house.

What would be cool is if there was a dynamic MW regulator. So it switched automatically based on where you are during the flight...... But that sounds like something an FPV drone wouldn't be capable of even hypothetically.... Maybe setting it to an RX switch so you can change it "on the fly" (I need to say it's a pun because I mean it as 'during flight' haha) would be fricken awesome!!!!

Anyway hope that helps.

higher mw value for better penetration. you might be able to improve the video a by better antennas.

overall, if bando is your main goal; digital video transmission would work better.

try the max mw value and see what it changes woudl be my suggestion

No amount of mw power can fix bad antenna. You shouldnt need 600mw.

Sadly, unless you have analyzer, you cant tell if antenna is good. Even no crashes, antenna can be broken inside or just bad from factory.

I can guarantee that the $2-$3 banggood antennas are all bad. ie Lollipop v5

He was going 25MW in a abandoned buildings. That isn't gonna work no matter what antenna he's using.

lol why not? Ur proly no gonna need more than 600mw but why so against going higher?

Anyway, you're gonna see a marked improvement with 200mw as it is.25mw is useless if you ask me. Fit for hall way flying with minwhoops when it's raining, and that's about it.
