ELRS dipole antenna orientation - horizontal or vertical

Do you have `displayport_msp_fonts = 0,0,0,0` set in the CLI? Or have the multicolor fonts uploaded?

This build is still running BF4.3.2, I believe the multicolor fonts come in BF4.5? So no multicolor fonts, I guess the color comes from WTFOS overlay tool.

Moving the loop time up from 1.6 to 3.2 changed the CPU loading from 21% to 31%. I figured for a cruiser the lower loop time would be fine, but I will keep it at 3.2 and try it out.

I do plan to remount the antenna vertically, but will have to figure out where. I have not heard that the vista will interfere with ELRS when close together, I am still thinking somewhere along the VTX antenna shaft might be the easiest spot out of props way.

What is the benefit of uploading multicolor fonts? What is the disadvantage of setting `displayport_msp_fonts = 0,0,0,0`?

And as for the original question, vertical polarization of the antenna is without a doubt more advantageous if you fly at a greater distance low above the ground, which is exactly our case. For freestyle flying or racing, which is typically a short distance, I only use Rx with a tower PCB antenna in quads, and I can control it safely even at a distance of 2 km on 2.4 GHz with vertical polarization on the Tx.

Most people who still painlessly use only horizontal polarization with TBS equipment do not know anything about what polarization is and at the same time do not fly really long distances, the 900 Mhz band simply allows them to afford this ignorance and do not have to solve how to vertically position the antenna on the quad .

Remounted the antenna in vertical orientation about an inch behind the VTX antenna. Did not have a chance to fly at the same spot, but going around the neighborhhod (behind/above houses). It seems better overall but the TX power still ramped up although less then the horizontal setup - I guess those huge dips in the RSNR are from interference? Out around 800m it did a slow 360 rotation staying at 50mw. The only time it hit 1W was when it was low and behind several houses behind me.

It seems the RSNR OSD element was only added in BF4.4, so this is from radio log.

As for RSNR, I'd start to be more cautious around -1dB, it worked even at -5dB. Values above 0 dB are perfectly fine.
