Eachine Pro58 Button mod the RIGHT way
#1
Hello!

not sure if this is the right place but it seems as though.

So we all know of the stupid little toggle button to control the pro58 RX, how annoying they are to use and how they always break.

Now i've seen a few mods where people do some jank soldering to mount 3 momentary push buttons, but between myself and my mates (and my fiancee) we have almost 10 of these. So I devised a solution  Big Grin

This is a very simple PCB I designed and it takes 3 6x6mm surface mount push buttons, the plan is to run wires from the pads at the bottom of the PCB to the pads where the old toggle switch originally connected to. Then you can either have long wires to use it as a remote (for OSD) but I plan on double sided taping it to the top of my goggles infront (or behind) the channel button. That way they are easily pressed.

The PCB's are on order currently so I will update the thread once I get them and do some tests.

If i was to sell these for a few $$ a piece with wires and buttons installed would anyone be interested in it?

Dave

Okay I've spent the last few weeks waiting for PCB's, soldering, testing, etc. And I'm here now to tell you IT WORKS!

So here are some pictures. It works great. If you want one let me know and for a few $$ to cover postage and buttons (literally 50c for buttons) I can send one out to you to test.

Very nice work. Thanks for sharing Thumbs Up

I quite like the original multi-function jog wheel switch on my Realacc RX5808 but I do agree that it would be better if it was more robust. After having to replace mine I just learned to be gentle with it.

Yeah I agree, the problem I have is that i'm running flysight falcon goggles which have a deeper recess which puts the jog wheel in a place where you need to use a pin or something to use it.

This is a great idea! Are you still planning to sell them? I'd be interested.

PM me if you want one, i have a whole bunch of them.

I could set up a store front on my site if there is demand, but I haven't got any requests so far.

If you fancy trying to fix what you already have with another switch of the same type then I created a tutorial at the link below. It's for the Realacc RX5808 but the procedure to repair the Eachine Pro58 will essentially be the same.

And next time, don't be so ham-fisted Big Grin

Thx!
Yes, this is the first thing I thought, but searching for another solution, I found this post, but bffigjam lives literally in the other end of the world, so I think its not the best one.
The thing is I want to take the opportunity to change the system to buttons, because I hate a lot these kind of toggle switches, but if I find one easily, I would try.

Thanks!
