Drawing Power from Kakute F7
#1
I have a Holybro Kakute f7, Atatl HV V2 VTX, Runcam Eagle 2 XSR Frysky receiver, and the buzzer. I'm debating whether I should draw all of the power from these components to my kakute f7, or if I should run the vtx on vbat. My fc says it can only have a draw of 2 amps, but I'm not sure of the current draw of my other components. If I run the vtx on vbat, how exactly is this accomplished? Do I just solder the positive wire to the lipo positive on my 4 in 1 Esc and LIPO connector, and solder the ground to the ground on the fc, or the pad on the esc? Thanks for any help.

You should use lipo voltage for your VTX. There is a B+ on the left of the diagram.

Here is a good reference for wiring.

Thanks... When I power it by lipo how would I go about doing this? Would I solder the positive wire into the positive xt60 connecter and the negative to the xt60 connector, or would I solder the negative to the nearest GND? Thanks for your help!

Did you go to the link? The diagram is pretty clear on where to wire the VTX. The B+ and the ground next to that pad.

Edit: I think I misunderstood your question. Go to link. You power the ESC with pigtail XT60. The wire cable connector between the ESC and FC will provide the lipo power to the FC.

Right, thanks for your quick reply. My only question is do you think having a FPV camera, XSR receiver, Atatl HV V2 transmitter transmitting at 600 or 800 mW, and a buzzer will draw more than the maximum 2 amps allowed on my board? Thanks for helping me through this. Sorry if I'm a bit slow, this is my first build...

It probably will be more than 2 amp. Remember, the 2 amp is only for the 5V. The B+ is straight lipo, so that doesn't count towards the 2amp.

Thanks for your help!! Smile
