Do not underestimate insect bites!
#1
We FPV'ers spend much time outdoor and will inevitably come in contact with insects, so I do think this is very relevant. If you ever get insect bites and have sign of swelling, get it looked at as soon as possible and do not leave it!

Grew up in the humid part of Asia, I am quite used to insect bites. But recently I had a few bad bites around my ankle, thought it's probably nothing although it was a bit swollen. It was a mistake on my part to underestimate it, and it turned into an infection few days later.

Had to spend most of this week in bed because walking has been difficult. Finally saw a doctor today, and I am on antibiotics now.

Like most people, I hate going to the doctors and dentists... But it only took a couple of hours to get it looked at, and I should've done that sooner! Hopefully it won't take too long to recover, I am reviewing a few new models but haven't been able fly them yet!

o no what a bad experience! i have good experience care eachother, very good thing, if you could fly with others and have a flybreak to look at the others, help with the hands or look at when the feel something. normaly in the evening flights are determinated by the light, but sometimes when the sun doesnt shine directly on spot near the water, we had to stop flying because of to much agressive mosquitos and insects, they rob the spot x-)
onetime near the forest in high gras, i found two walking tick on my skin at home another three on my body, they was specialy small, young ones about 1mm , it was luck find them before they try to rob my blood. it was spot specific, i never had it again.
specialy if fly alone probably an anti-insect-candle could helping keep them a bit more away.
get well soon! awaiting for your reviews and new flightfootage or impressions.

Not a nice experience but glad to hear you're on the mend and can stop worrying.

I know what you mean about the doctors and dentists. I've only been to the doctors twice in the last 10 years and the last time I visited the dentist was probably 5 or 6 years ago, all of which was only through forced necessity.

I avoid flying when the sun sets as all the mosquitos starts to bite you, during the day its fine.
