DJI FPV CONTROLLER
#1
There is a lot of talk about signal quality and strength of the dji system as far as video goes. Nobody from what I can find has info on the signal strength of the dji remote. The goggles display two rows of signal bars. One for video and one for the controller. If the video bars turn red I can still look at bitrate and latency so I can push the video range. If I run crossfire there is RSSI and link quality I can put on the onscreen display. The problem is there is no way (that I know of currently) to see the signal strength if I use the dji controller. The bars turn red at about a quarter mile and I have no way of knowing if I can push the range further without dropping signal completely. Am I missing something?

I believe the controller bars turning red are DJI's way of telling you the signal is low and you should turn around. There is no other detail about the radio link for you to use.

Unfortunately this is correct, I confirmed with DJI engineers there is no way to know exactly how strong the signal is. Some more brave pilots have supposedly continued flying a mile out while having red signal bars, I’m not so brave so crossfire system is on the way.

I found a link to to some hack that claims to boost the power output og the dji controller to 1.5W. That should help significantly on the range.
Just curious if anybody has done this succesfully?

The link you posted has nothing to do with the DJI Controller for the DJI FPV System. That hack is for a DJI Controller used with the Phantom / Mavic camera drones which works on completely different technology to the DJI Controller that is used for the DJI FPV System.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that
