Just started with hdzero and yet to touch my ws kit. My gut feelings:
Dji is awesome but its a box goggle
Hdzero is great, entry level with best latency but is a town planning disaster with all the crap you tag onto a pair of analog goggles. Mind you it helps if your hdo2s HDMI doesnt fail for the second time.
Walksnail is probably the future.
Wow! You're surely a lucky man
Even coming from FatShark Dominator HDO goggles I never really felt that the DJI Goggles were a box goggle. Yes, of course they are definitely larger, but it's not bothered me in the slightest, and they've never really felt overly heavy on my head either. Maybe the much more immersive experience of the larger screens just overrode all of that. I did initially miss the native Betaflight OSD, but I got used to flying without it and with the advent of the fpv.wtf project we will now be able to get that back again.
I really hope Walksnail can get their act together and pull something out of the bag for the sake of the hobby (and for some competition) because even after umpteen firmware releases, on the latest firmware people are reporting that the WDR is still total trash, and when flying into or under trees it is almost like flying blind. Ian (Mad's Tech) even went as far as to make a statement on his live stream this week that if Walksnail haven't sorted out the issue by January (which will then be 6 months into the product launch) it's unlikely that they will ever be able to achieve an acceptable balance between image quality and WDR. DJI on the other hand seem to have got it spot on with the new Goggles 2 and the Avata.
