Make ur own judgment .. the guy is true… 27-Sep-2022, 12:44 AM Something drop on youtube? Site looks the same. 27-Sep-2022, 01:35 AM In a nutshell Tarek got screwed over by a local school who are blaming him for a fire and cancelled his drone programme, he got fed up with numerous whining customers trying to take him for a ride, he decided to give away $200k worth of his stock to people for free who were really in need, and he will be giving away another $200k of stock to people who he thinks deserve it (that doesn't include freeloaders). His business model will be changing, and he will be spending more time on what is most important to him, like family. 27-Sep-2022, 07:47 PM I can tell you from experience that the school district he is speaking about will do whatever it takes to save face. No matter who they have to walk on, or whomever they have to blame. They will lie, cheat and slander anyone to make sure they (district) does not get any bad press. I hope they get what they have coming to them. … The lipos was one of the biggest reasons I suggested my wife use only 1s whoops in her class.. yes, they will still burn.. but most chargers are usb AND her “Speros” (iPad controlled balls) also have 1s lipos .. so if something goes wrong, damage would be minimal.. Plus it’s middle schoolers.. no way I would trust them .. 28-Sep-2022, 11:53 PM WOW. Well, I had noticed that everything {and I mean EVERYTHING} on the CycloneFPV website is now sold in multiples of 5 or 10. Nothing single that I could find. So, it will be interesting to see what changes he makes and what direction he goes with CycloneFPV. I totally agree with what Tarek says, especially about the FAA, the regulations, and the changing of the hobby. Althouh I couldn't say that the FPV hobby was shrinking, I have noticed changes in product availability. Hmmm. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Where will one, anyone, be able to fly?? Who will be enforcers?? Who will be snitches?? Will we all be "sneaking" around, looking for secluded places to fly, Hmmm. Very interesting indeed. 29-Sep-2022, 02:01 AM (This post was last modified: 29-Sep-2022, 02:03 AM by Lemonyleprosy.) In my few interactions with Tarek & family, they’ve proven themselves to be good people. They seem to put a lot more… “heart” into the business than any other retailer. I hope that however they reorganize and whatever they choose to make their focus, that they’ll still be active in our hobby. We need more like Tarek and his wife. As far as the future of the hobby- I don’t know. I’m sure it will adapt and adjust, just as every hobby has as government man starts adding restrictions and regulations. I remember as a teenager, we all thought that model rocketry was going to completely die once they started regulating our engines and making us jump through hoops just because we wanted to launch a 10’+ rocket into the air… Honestly, we were more concerned about not being able to buy a simple C sized engine without having to find a time where a parent was able to come with us while the hobby shop was still open. I got out of rockets years ago, did the hobby die? Regarding quads, I do find myself gravitating towards smaller and smaller builds. Part of that may be my subconscious knowing that I may be limited to that in the future, but consciously, I’m just finding micro builds to be super fun to fly. Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose. 29-Sep-2022, 02:05 AM … the 5-10 items is the second part of the sale..I have purchased from them in the past.. and have been impressed with his “no nonsense” honest business..practice.. 04-Oct-2022, 08:23 PM This is a loss to the community. I'll admit Cyclone wasn't necessarily my "go to" but Pyrodrone is hard to top when their stuff gets to me in 1 day often times not mention their breadth of products. But Cyclone always carried random stuff that was clearly meant to help out the community and not to turn a profit. I remember them renting out I think what was a DJI goggle anti-bricking hardware. Not gonna find that sorta stuff anywhere else. 04-Oct-2022, 10:00 PM Oh he didn’t “rent” it, I think he only asked for a deposit ..to keep someone from keeping it.. And he actually disassembled HIS DJI freestyle quad .. and didn’t just send it to his customers.. he had it sent to ANYONE that purchased the V2 goggles and didn’t have a quad to “unlock” them.. |
