Crossfire Micro TX not binding to Nano RX
#1
Hello all. I just got my TBS Micro TX starter kit and connected it to my FC. It wasn't working correctly before so decided to factory reset both the TX and the Nano RX. Now, I plug in my battery and I get a solid red light. This is only when the transmitter is off. When I turn the transmitter on, it blinks twice quickly green, pauses, then blinks quickly green again. I see on my transmitter that I am connected to the RX, but I don't get any stick outputs in the receiver tab in Betaflight. I also can connect to the RX via LUA scripts. Lastly, when I try and bind in the LUA scripts, the light goes back to solid red on the RX. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The flashing green LED pattern you are seeing usually means corrupt firmware on the Crossfire Nano RX. Try the following procedure to attempt to correct it:-
  1. Hold the bind button while powering up the receiver and the green LED will start to flash rapidly.
  2. Release the bind button and wait for about 1-2 seconds.
  3. Push and hold the bind button again and the green LED will start to flash a double pattern.
  4. When the LED starts to flash rapidly, release the bind button and the firmware repair process will begin.
  5. When the receiver has finished the repair, the LED will start to flash slowly.
  6. The receiver is now ready to be bound and you should power-cycle the receiver to avoid any issues.

Thanks for helping me fix that issue, the problem is, I have run into another issue. When I go to the receiver tab in Betaflight and move the sticks, (after the transmitter is connected to the drone), I see the values move, but all the values reset to defaults if I move any stick (throttle/yaw/pitch/roll) to the maximum position. The values are temporarily locked at the defaults until I move the stick from less than the maximum in either direction. I will post a video of the issue shortly.

UPDATE: I have fixed this issue by remapping the outputs on my transmitter. Thanks for the help @SnowLeopardFPV!

So I just got Crossfire after flying for a few years using Spektrum and FrSky. I got a few Crossfire Nano receivers to swap out my old R-XSRs. I get everything wired up and I was ready to bind but got ahead of myself and held the bind button down when powering up like I would do with the R-XSR. The receiver would not bind to the transmitter. Since then I have not been able to get the receiver to auto bind at all even after trying the above procedure to recover the "golden firmware". Is there something that I am missing or have I bricked my receiver?

If I power up and press nothing then the LED is solid green. If I follow the procedure for repairing the firmware, everything happens as listed but in after Step 5 the receiver LED flashes slowly once or twice and then turns off. Is this normal or should the LED continue to flash slowly until it is powered down?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I highly doubt you’ve bricked your system.

I used the following video to set mine all up and it’s a short to the point video.
Tbs has a link to it on their site is how I found it.

No problem. The procedure I described is the Crossfire (and Tracer) "Emergency Recovery Procedure" and the information is on the TBS website, but you need to know what to look/search for in order to find it.

this processed saved me today as I was about to pull my hair out as to why a nano receiver I got used wouldn't bind... this turned out to be it. Thank you!
