Control Runcam with FC?
#1
HI. I am rebuilding a  250 quad that spent a year and a half lost in the hills.  Replacing FC and camera.  Can the Runcam Phoenix 2 1000TVL FPV Camera be controlled  by the Matek F722-STD or do I need something else to change settings? If the F722 can control it, which  pads?

EDIT Running BetaFlight 3.5.7
What I am looking for is a way to adjust settings with the FC. I know about the little board shown in the manual. Sorry for confusion.

Most Runcams will have a TX and RX pin on the back of the camera but that one does not. You can use a separate camera control board made by Runcam though: https://shop.runcam.com/runcam-control-adapter/

If you have the normal Phoenix 2, you have to use Betaflight camera control emulation. It is hit or miss. You will have to resource S6 per Matek instruction to achieve this.

If you have the JB Phoenix 2, then you can wire to an UART for camera control. The UART is the better way to do it.

The runcam-control-adapter does not work with the nano. I have the Runcam Phoenix 2 1000TVL FPV Camera - Lumenier Edition, so I think it does not work with the runcam-control-adapter.

I guess I will just get a Runcam Key Board shown in the manual.

Looks like I need to learn a lot more about FPV camera choices. Pretty steep learning curve!

Thanks for the replies, guys.

The Lumenier version has the analog menu control. So you are correct, you need the key board. Or setup like the link.

The way you can tell in any camera. Those with digital menu control will have "TX/RX". Those with a analog control will has "G/MENU". By the way, camera with digital control can be switch between digital and analog.
