Connecting a 4-in-1 racerstar ESC to omnibus F4 flight controller
#1
Hello,

I have a 4 in 1 racerstar ESC that has orange, yellow, green, and blue wires. It is wired with its black and red wires to the PDB. I have the Omnibus F4 AIO OSD 5V BEC flight controller. I want to connect them. The information for the flight controller says this

M1-M4 : ESC Power Cable
V+ & V-: ESC's "+" & "-"

On the board, it looks like m1 through m4 are the large holes at the corners. But the wires from the ESC are tiny. Is that where they connect and what is the ESC plus and minus

Can you post a link or photo to exactly what Racestar 4in1 ESC and Omnibus FC you have?

So basically you have a FC that was actually designed for individual ESC's and basically is an FC + PDB in one. And the ESC you have is a 4ini.

The wiring diagram I will suggest for you is something like this:

Basically FC M1/M2/M3/M4 pads will be connected to ESC S1/S2/S3/S4 pins in the same order (follow the colours).

This is a simplest method and will not give you current sensing abilities assuming the FC has a current sensor.

Thank you. I really appreciate it.

What are the red and black arrows.

The ESC is already wired to the PDB on the drone. And the PDB has the plug for the battery. The video transmitter and camera are also wired to the PDB. Should I unwire that PDB and use this FC by itself

the arrows are were the lipo connector would come, where you plug in a battery.

the fc has a pdb integrated, donyou actual use 3boards? the fc a single pdb and the esc?

I don't know whether to use the old PDB that's already connected or to not use that.

can you post a picture?

you shouldnt use an additional pdb next to the 4in1 board and fc

You definitely do not need a PDB since the FC and the ESC both have a built in PDB.

You have added a PDB but its not required with the Omnibus F4 AIO.

Please redo the 5v pad soldering. You should properly twist the wire and not have loose strands as it can cause a short.

I will redo the soldering. Thank you I appreciate it. So I don't need the PDB. Would it be better to remove it, or is it better to use it anyway now that it's already wired to the camera, video transmitter and ESCs

When I remove the dedicated PDB and rewire it as you suggest what will I attach the battery plug to? Right now the battery plug is attached to the PDB and I don't see a spot for it on the FC.

You need to attached the Xt60 via 14 to 16 AWG wires to the B+ and B- pads on the FC.
