Can a 40amp 4n1 handle 7” on 4S?
#1
I have a hobbywing 40amp and 60amp 4n1.
I have some BH 2507 1750 motors I was going to use with 4S and 7” props.
I probably should play it safe and use 60amp but I don’t think the motors will pull over 30amps each so I am considering using the 20 by 20 40amp.

 I have a 2506 1845Kv and on 4S it pulls 26amps with 7 by 5 prop so I don’t think 2507 1750 will pull over 30amps but it’s a 12 ounce fixed wing.It has a 60amp burst rate.
Honestly I just want to try out the lighter 20 by 20 40amp 4n1.It’s something different.

Anyway I thought I’d ask if I could use the 40amp and not see it come down toast.

yess for sure :-) with the hw 40a, i believe you wont come into troubles on 4s.
i wouldnt trust all brands that much.

it might be on the edge, the motor test on 5s and 6inch gave a peak current of 45a on 100% throttle.
if you like to go for fullthrottle and tight turns all the time a gently motoroutputlimit of 5-10% should prevent a befor the peak.
most 7inchers are used for cruising mostly, they could fly on 20a escs :-) how do you like to use it?

I am going to build it as a 5” first and see how I like the way it flies.
It’s a Camera butter cinema frame and the arms can be turned over for Deadcat or X freestyle.
It’s available with 5” or 7/8” or both and I got the 7/8 arms too.

There’s a sale now and I missed it by a few weeks.

Buy a 5” or 7” frame and get a full set of 4 extra arms.

so you will mostly cruise it, not hard bashing or fullthrottle powerloops in a row?

Lol,with 7” props I’d cruise but with 5” arms it’s full throttle power loops.
With 5” arms I’m using 2306.6 1750 with 6S.

Your correct and using 60amp would be best for both 5” and 7/8”.

I’m going to use 40amp with 2306 and 5” only and if I go with 7/8” props later I’ll use the 2507 and the 60amp they are soldered up too.

 I don’t think I’ll fly 7” this season.
I need more 6S packs for my 5” and I need to read a bit more on 7” setups.
