Its a new Caddx Vista I just got, first time using it. Soldered it to the drone, and tried to activate it with DJI Assistant 2, but it says "Activation Failed. Firmware Error", any idea what is wrong?

I assume that you've tried re-flashing the latest firmware? If that doesn't work, try flashing an older version of the firmware and then flash the newest version again.

You can update firmware without activating. You just can't use the product until it's activated.

How do I do that? The DJI Assistant 2 is not showing me the upgrade option. When I double click the Vista on the device list, it goes straight to activation process.

That's odd. I wonder if the error message is incorrect and if it's actually a network issue trying to contact DJI the DJI servers. If you use a VPN then temporarily switch it off. Likewise if you are using a firewall and or ant-virus software then switch those off.

Are you using a Windows machine or a Mac?

Odd indeed. I found a discussion thread of similar issue on the DJI forum, but that case was caused by a disconnection in the middle of firmware update, no solution has been found.

At first I was using the Windows version, and I have retried with firewall and VPN turned off. Then I tried the Mac version and got the same error message.

I sent Caddx an email asking for a solution, I hope that they will get back to me soon.
