Boxer SA Switch will NOT Arm my Quads
#1
My Boxer WILL arm my Quads using the SB, SC & SD Switches. The SA Switch will NOT Arm my Quads.
Any ideas?

There isn't enough information provided to give you a clear answer.

Is your SA switch assigned to an output channel on your BOXER in the INPUTS and/or MIXER pages for the model?

Does that switch actually “work” ? Assign it to something and see if it show activation in betaflight modes tab.. if it doesn’t .. you may need to disassemble it and check if with a meter.. better yet.. see if u have activation in the screen on the controller..

Let me better explain how I set the SA Switch up.  In BFC in Modes Tab, I set the ARM Aux Switch to Auto, then I flipped SA Switch and it went to AUX 3, I believe. This is how I tested the other Switches. I also moved the ARM slider to 1850-2100.  The Drone Armed on all the Switches except Switch SA.  I hope that better clarifies my actions.

So i'm unsure from your description whether your radio is setup incorrectly or you are doing something wrong in Betaflight. Also is this ELRS or something else.

If the Radio is setup incorrectly you can remap it in EdgeTX. So if that switch works, but is assigned wrong, you can change the channel it uses. Normally you never have to do this because the radio comes preconfigured from the factory, but sometimes things go wrong or maybe it was wrong to start with. On my radio I snapped the SD Card while removing it and then had to redo my radio from scratch, including assigning the buttons to channels. Which taught me a ton about EdgeTX. You might want to do this yourself for the learning experience and while you are at it learn about telemetry and how to use telemetry to get info about your quad via the Radio.

This basic video will teach you how to map a switch in EdgeTX.

Then assign arm to AUX1 which should be your SA switch on CH5, in Betaflight.

If the problem is something else or not ELRS. You need to be a bit more verbose about the problem, because I don't think we have enough info to advise you.

From the photos it shows that you haven't assigned the SA switch to any of the output channels. That is why the receiver and Betaflight aren't able to see or detect that switch. Configure / assign the SA switch to one of the spare auxiliary channels on your Boxer and it will then work.

EDIT: Have a watch of Drainman's video linked to below which shows how to assign switches to auxiliary channels. He's using a different transmitter than you, but the procedure is exactly the same on a Boxer...

If you are running ELRS you need to keep the arm on AUX1 (CH5). If you want to use your SA switch, you can remap CH5 under the MIXES tab to SA switch. Double-check in BFC you have set the correct range according to your switch positions (the arm mode will light up when the switch is in arm position).

Change:

CH5 - SB to CH5 - SA.
CH6 to SB
CH7 to SC
CH8 to SD

and anything else on to the next available channel. That should fix your issue with SA and not arming.

Looks like everyone else got there first. Big Grin

I adjusted the INPUTS OUTPUTS and MIXES are below.   Boxer, still does not give me the option to use SA Switch to ARM the Drone.  Also, in BFC Modes Tab when I flip the SB Switch it make the ARM Mode turn Red instead of the SD Switch I had to set for ARM!

It's still wrong. It needs to be like this.

Inputs
Code:
Rud 100 Rud
Ele 100 Ele
Thr 100 Thr
Ail 100 Ail
05 100 SA ARM
06 100 SB MODE
07 100 SC
08 100 SD

Mixes
Code:
CH1 100 IAil
CH2 100 IEle
CH3 100 IThr
CH4 100 IRud
CH5 100 I05     ARM
CH6 100 I06     MODE
CH7 100 I07     TURT
CH8 100 I08     BEEP

Leave OUTPUTS as default.

ARM, MODE, TURT, BEEP are descriptors, change them to what you want. But ARM has to be on CH5. Whatever switch you assign to CH5 is your ARM switch.

Hello again. I set the INPUTS and MIXES exactly as you indicated. Strange things are happening now. The Boxer throttle now DOES NOT cause the Bars to move in Receiver Tab in BFC. Also, the SA Switch is not listed as an option in Inputs and Mixes. So I chose the SD Switch as the Arming Switch as well as SB for Angle, SC for Turtle mode. While in Modes Tab the SD Switch DOES NOT Activate the ARM box...instead it is the SB Switch all the down that Activates the ARM Switch. Pushing the SB Switch to the Middle Activates the ANGLE Mode. Totally confused!
