BetaFPV 2-4S 12A board

Why do I torture myself.
I bought the BetaFPV 2-4S 12A AIO FC.

After 2 motors died in a week (wire fell off), GEPRC was really nice and sent me replacemet 1204 - so the 1204 went into this build. Their SMART35 is CineLog35 are awesome with top-notch build quality... CineLog25 is meh. IMHO.

The BetaFPV board is tiny. And the pads are a challenge. There is the usual UART1 and UART2 on F411. But BetaFPV has a 2nd TX2 and a UART6?? Electrical wizzardry? No. Don't be fooled. Its just 2 Soft Serials.


Problem1
The pads are VERY poorly laid out. If you are new to soldering or coming from Mamba easy big pad stack you will be in world of hurt.
The diagram is fairly confusing with criss-crossing lines.



Problem2. 
Website says its GH-30. But it came flashed with GH-25 16.7 for ESC.
I flashed BlueJay (req for rpm filtering) and tested each motor direction.
It came with 4.2.0.. uhh pretty old. I flashed BF 4.3.1.


Problem3.
Its now.. um. Dead. I flashed it. I setup everything. I couldnt arm because I had GPS_Rescue, so I disabled GPS mode.
And now...  its blank. There is no OSD. On USB connection it says no Gyro and looks like it has defaults.

Did you test the board before soldering anything to it??   Did you fully test fly it before changing firmware? Sometimes a maker actually advises NOT to "upgrade" or add features the hardware was not designed for. Do you have as supplied state backups you can revert to?

From my experience with that maker, experience I have no intention of extending, best to move right along, nothing to see here............................

As for wires falling off motors, been around RC since 1972, been around electric flight since it first appeared, been around quads as long as they have existed in the public domain, currently have well over 100 models, and never had a motor wire "fall off, so cannot help.

Can you post a dump? Are you sure you flashed the correct target (BETAFPVF411 vs BETAFPVF411RX)?

There were some significant changes made in Betaflight 4.3 around resource/DMA assignments that have caused conflicts with some motor assignments on older boards. Could you also post the output of 'dma show' and 'timer show'?

Regarding the Bluejay version, I would flash with the G-H-30 firmware to be safe. That extra 100ns of deadtime could be the difference between no problems and blowing out your FETs.

I would also check if BlueJay is compatible with it. I had loads of issues when I tried flashing one on my tinywhoop from betfpv and only solved after flashing the original BLheli-S firmware.
