Betaflight settings for total beginner
#1
Dears,

I started with quads a couple of months ago and I practiced a lot  with Velocidrone. Currently I can fly a track with flags doing decent turns. I'm now into gates and smaller obstacles. The problem is that, in real world, I cannot perform even a single good turn... I don't know if it's a mind condition or anything else, however... i decided to set my flight in the most confortable way...

I'm now asking you... if you have to suggest a rate/super-rate/expo/throttle scale/throttle curve settings for a guy who takes in hands the transmitter for the first time... what would you suggest ? I would like to start directly in Acro but in the softest possible way... then improving by slightly increasing the responsiveness by time to time.

Try to match your setup to how you have it in Velocidrone. So the same rates and same camera tilt.

If you're not too confident you can also add angle mode to a switch on your transmitter so if things get hairy you can flip on angle mode and let everything centre and you will level off. Well, you need to keep the throttle up, but you get the idea!

The ground is for dead people.

I started with everything default and haven't changed anything yet though I'm starting to think about it now 1,5 years in. Just practice, practice, practice in a large open area flying a square clockwise and counter clockwise and it'll come to you soon.
I don't think changing them often is a good idea as many tricks are based more on muscle memory than what you see and you would have to re-learn that every time so e.g. your rolls stop flat.
