Best 2S LiPo for Toothpick
#1
Hey guys, new to toothpick Smile
Does anyone have any idea what brand/size is best for toothpick?
Motors are 1103 8000KV-11000KV

Also would be interested to buy second hand batteries in the UK.

Edit: I bought a bunch of Lipo and tested them. See result here: https://oscarliang.com/whoop-toothpick-lipo-battery/

It was a type of micro quad invented/developed by Bob Roogi (KababFPV). He's a dentist by trade which is why he named it the "Toothpick"...

https://kababfpv.com/2019/01/16/build-guide

Much like the name "Whoop" has become a common household name for the tiny ducted quads, the name "Toothpick" has also started to become a household name for the size/style of quad that Bob developed, and other manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon and producing their own versions of a "Toothpick" quad so it's starting to become all the rage.

Oh, and don't forget to floss your teeth Big Grin

I can probably make some 2S out of these 1S cells myself Smile

I would suggest the Tattu 450's but everywhere other than Banggood (HERE) seems to be out of stock and i guess you want them quickly.

I have no idea of the quality, but how about one of the following:-
Either of the above has to beat messing around with constructing 2S LiPos out of 1S LiPos.

I was just looking at the price Smile
£2 a cell is hard to miss! Smile

Yeah, but it's showing as +£2.99 delivery per cell, so 2 cells cost £10 with delivery which is more than just buying an already made single 2S LiPo.

ah okay, so it's a trap Smile
I thought the 2.99 shipping applies to multiple batteries  ROFL

nothing was invented from kababfpv, he sell a frame calls toothpick the only development. he makes the size popular by his ytchannel and as result the market react to the popularity. the very positve thing is there comes more and more quality for the size. i like the spicy comments of kabab and his channel, but im also a bit shocked of the force over ghe market from one person... „kabab cut the sea for the people to go to the otherside: the nanoquads“ holy-shit  ROFL

but today toothpick does simply mean a nanoquad, nothing more. this settup was available as bnf before kabab speak about. originally only -the frame from kabab for this size calls „toothpick“

my impressions with small lipos is: turnigy nanotech 300mah 35-70c was fareway the best, but probably there are more good options allready

Do not buy those batteries from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07486MWRH)
I bought 4 and 2 of which are puffed out of the box.

Thats a bummer.. I know that kabab recommends GNB batteries for the toothpick, both 450 - 520mah should work

have you built your toothpick yet? what parts have you used? I want to build one myself but want to wait until the quality of the boards gets better

Sorry Oscar. If I'd realised the quality was that bad I wouldn't have put up a link to them. At least with Amazon you know you will get your money back, but is just unnecessary hassle and time wasted.

HobbyRC seem to have the GNB ones in stock that Andreas mentioned (link below). Nick Burns also endorses the GNB 2S LiPos, and AndyRC endorses their larger 4S counterparts. I have some 1S GNB's for my UK65 which I storage charge when not in use and they seem to be holding up just fine, so I think the Gaoneng brand overall has a fairly good reputation.

I actually found them before i posted this thread so it was inevitable Smile
Never in my life had new batteries that came puffed, this is actually the first time.

I'm about to start my toothpick build, but I'm still waiting for the camera and receiver (Caddx EOS2 and Frsky XM), so I'll have to wait until after my summer holiday.
However, I was also waiting with the build because of the poor quality of the Crazybee FC, but then, about a few weeks ago, iFlight released their SucceX F4 Whoop FC (https://www.iflight-rc.com/index.php?rou...uct_id=848), so I ordered that one. I have a good experience with iFlight products, so I'm keeping my hopes high Big Grin
