Anyone purchased an Archer RX yet?
#1
I will be getting some more receivers soon for servo use but I’d rather get Archer series  than more RX series but I can’t find any US dealers that have had them.
I have seen FrSky do this before when they first started, releases takes years to hit US shelves or maybe it’s the virus situation.

Has anyone tried an Archer yet?

What features does Archer series have versus a RX6R with Access firmware on it?

As far as I can tell, they have similar features currently. The Archer is OTA updated. You are supposed to get longer range, but not tested.

Archer series will continue to be developed, while the RX6R will not be.

Anyone who has bought into the ACCESS radios and intend to fly on the 2.5GHz frequency would probably be best advised to go with the new Archer range of receivers to future proof themselves IMO.

We also don't currently have any members on here with any expertise in the new Archer receivers as far as I know, so we could probably do with one or two members who can provide assistance to others with Archer receivers as and when needed Smile

Other than binding the RX6R to Access and watching it bind wireless I haven’t test flown it for range.
What does FrSky mean by full control range with telemetry?
Did using telemetry before Access limit control range?

Telemetry data is broadcast from the receiver which generally has a lower power transmitter in it than the transmitter in your radio. So at longer ranges you will continue to have RC link control from the radio to the receiver, but telemetry data being broadcast back to the radio will drop out because the range is too far for the low power transmitter in the receiver to be able to successfully reach the radio.

FrSky seem to be claiming that the Archer receivers have a powerful enough transmitter in them that telemetry data will continue to be received by the radio for the full distance that you have an RC link for.
