Antenna caps - purpose?
#1
What's the purpose of those little caps at the end of the antenna tubing? Is it just for protection? Can they be replaced with electrical tape or some other kind of sticky tape?
Asking because I lost one on my ELRS RX antenna which has 1.5mm tubing (outer diameter), and I only have 3mm extra tubing and caps that came with the drone. Searched online for 1.5mm tubing for half an hour before giving up.

Those caps serve no particular purpose and are just there for improved aesthetics / decoration, so you can just leave the end of the tube open or put something else on it as you desire.

To get some replacements of the same, search for "Screw Rubber End Cap" and you will find what you are looking for. Below are some results from Amazon and AliExpress:
EDIT: Here are specifically some 1.5mm inner diameter ones...

First things I loose on most quads are the antenna tubes at the end of the TBS Crossfire antennas. Makes no difference.

It's probably a pretty simple question, but it's impossible to find an answer anywhere.
The antenna of my ELRS receiver is completely unprotected and will obviously get damaged in a landing. However, the drone comes with protective tubes for the antenna.
The problem is that these tubes do not lock into place at all. They are very easy to put on and just as easy to remove from the antenna. That is, if you just put them on, they will easily fall off even before the flight begins.
I think it's a bad idea to use super glue to fix the tubes. But in that case, how do you install them so they don't fall off?
How do you do it?
Or are there tubes of such small diameter which will be put on such a thin antenna right next to it?

And what do you think, when installing the tubes, should they be shortened exactly to the length of the antenna? Do you have to make the tips of the antenna fit snugly against where the thickenings are on the tube?

PS: yes, here above it is spoken that these tubes in principle are not necessary, but it would be desirable somehow to protect the aerial all the same.

A little dab of superglue at the base isn’t going to hurt anything, and you can trim plastic tubes down if you like. A certain length isn’t important, just try not to cut them down so much that the antenna wire is getting all bunched up in there.

I wouldn’t glue them to the tpu holder, I’d glue them to the plastic base of the T.

Also, UV glue would be better than superglue if you think you might ever want to remove the tubes.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Thanks for the tip! I will try to do it with UV glue.
