30x30 FC together with 20x20 other components on 3inch frame?
#1
My 3inch frame can take 30*30 or 20*20 components. I am planning to use below components.

Hakrc 20x20mm 15A 4in1 ESC  20x20
Mini VTX5848 48CH 5.8G 25/100/200mW 20x20
Matek System F722-SE  30x30

And I plan to stack them in below order,

Bottom - 20x20 ESC
Middle - 20x20 VTX
Top - 30x30 FC

Is this a good idea?

Thanks

Not sure how you are going to stack the 30x30 on top. Are you going to use the top plate? Makes more sense to put 30x30 on bottom. But you will need an adapter to transition from 30 to 20. Why not just go all 20x20mm?

With 20x20, you have to make sure that the mount holes are all M3 or M2. Having a mix batch can be a problem.

I was planning to use M3 Nylon standoff to do that.

If FC (30x30) need to be at bottom, I can use a 20x2x to 30x30 adapter for 20x20 ESC and VTX and mount on them above FC.

On the frame 30x30 holes are M3 and 20x20 holes are M2.

Matek F722 mini does not have baro. I need baro to use with GPS for INAV. This in INAV build

I dont know, I am still inclined towards Matek F722-SE. Its been proven on so many INAV builds. Its 10$ cheaper, got SD card and current sensor, better layout etc.
But yes, 6gm heavier and bigger than the kakute f7 mini.

I just tried to mock the mounting using an old dead 30x30 FC.
With VTX being stacked, its little tight. But I got another lengthier standoff  which should resolve the problem.
See attached photo.

i guess it depends on the motor thrust if the 6g are more important than the other featers on the 30x30matek. if i am right, you use tiny-small motors and li-ionbattery on this build? if yes, i would focus about wheigt because of more friendly to the batterys and flighttime in the end. my tought about i dont fly longrange...

the frame is a downsized clone of the https://m.banggood.in/Diatone-Grasshoppe...mds=search
the original is able for 4inch and is even lighter than the small clone. i guess for longrange a wide wingspan shouldnt be an issue. its a very old frame mdesign, but still one of the lightest 4inch frames, durability is endless with small motors, i broke one with heavy 1806 motors. Ihave two of them, i flew one with 1106 3800kv motors in the past and gemfan 3025 biblades on 2s and 3s and had long flighttimes and good performance.

Can you please link them?
I am debating between emax 1106 4500kv vs racerstar 1106 3800kv.
Racerstar is almost half the price as emax.
Yes, I plan to run only 2s and yes 18650 packs made of Sony vtc6 and Samsung inr 25r.
