3.5” Scythe HD
(07-Sep-2023, 03:29 AM)Recursion Wrote: Someone was able to break a Vanguard plate on Saturday in a hard crash, so I had him send over photos so I could try and squash the break path since I want to make it as durable as possible while keeping the weight down. While the changes will look minor, it should fix that one path and make the motor upward impact pivot point more durable and the path distance more universal. This will add about 0.2-0.3g total. Here is what it looks like now:

Here is a revised version (1.1) now updated on cncdrones. I doubt I'll break the original one and have a spare (1 of my 4 Scythes have it instead of standard), so if someone does manage to break this please share the data with me.

Nice work! Could I fit an o3 sensor into the reaver vanguard plate? I want to have o3 + naked go pro so the helios design does not work.  The extra 30g is worth for me for the excellent penetration and range that O3 offers. 230$ for O3 seems to be a better deal than 180$ for caddx vista nebula pro nano. If it doesn't fit, could I find a way of having the o3 with go pro together?

Reaver was specifically made for the Caddx Nebula Pro (non-nano), as that was what I made and tested prior to the Nano Camera being released, where I moved to make a new design for that camera. Trying to make it work might be possible but not without a custom mount for the camera in the frame, and washers for the screws since the m2 holes are a bit large for the O3 (m1.6). Even then it would be hacky, and for that reason I wouldn't use that frame for that purpose. I use my Vista when I'm using a Naked Gopro and know of at least one person who does the same for professional work.

This thread has convinced me to convert one of my AOS35 builds to a Scythe frame. I find the AOS35 frame a bit too heavy. Can't wait to see how the Scythe performs in comparison!

You will be delighted, the Scythe flies like no other... :-) Use the right equipment, it is described in this thread ...
