will it give incomplete motor set pleasure?

i like to use: 20a aio / superman 1404 3800kv / broken eclair frame

ideas or video links how i could do the bottom?

how could i mix the 3 motors, like an airplane model is my actual plan. any idea about would be appreciated.
edit: my idea of using a plane model in bf is to get stabilization on yaw, as it should give yaw instability from a single prop i the front

thank you for any help

You should be able to select tricoptor mode in betaflight?

thank you for the reply
the tricopter configuration to have the single motor in the front wont work, was my idea. but im unsure. did i miss an option to get a layout of the single motor in the front on a tricopter?
i also mentioned about y4, butbit seems it wouldnt work.
as it would only need a stabilization on the yaw axie,i beleive it wont work well.

after add an aio, doesnt get the mix i like, i went for a different try, but im still looking for options.

its actualy hoovering, there is no fc added. a receiver and three single esc, one of them is only able to do 3s, im limited in power at the momemt.
i mixed the two rear motors and set the front motor on a poti.
it works pretty okish but it needs handling improvements. i will need to add a lot of expo to get nice corners and not sure if it will be enough improvement.
im still looking forward to improve it with a gyro stabilization on yaw.
thinking about a gyro for rcplanes or rccars, but stear two motors with that signal didnt get my understanding.

there are benefits for fourmotor-whoovers, but i still like to get it working with incomplete motorsets, its no option.

probably my actual thoughts are wrong, the important bottom part is still a improvisation. probably with better uplift the handling will go better aswell.
i added a plastic bag with hotglue and some holes in it to get uplift. it worked somehow nice on flat ground, or it was sliding nice. i could get it to mouve, but i didnt get enough uplift outside.

its still a project, seems i like to go more deep in it, every ideas would be appreciated.

The easiest solution. Add a 4th motor. Haha.

a 4th motor is to easy xD nothing to explore
and i would need to mix two incomplete motorsets to get four motors :-) i realy would like to get a pleasurefull use for parts i wont use on quads; 3motors or 3in1 escs... like banelle s signature; ground is for dead parts xD zombie builds xD

i improved it by a near version like in the viedeo on post 5#
one 1404 did burn out, i added an old f20 to the front.
with improved bottom part and a lot expo its going to be very nice :-) ph try im coming for you xD

dvr coming soon xD

i added 4inch props to the back, feels better. gave better handling, probably because of the wider wingspan?
there was terribal overstearing first, i set the weight to 40 and the expo to 60 on my taranis, i am able to do beautifull wide corners or thight ones.
i improved the second bottom version, the plastic is a bit more stiff, probably i will do a bottomv3 but first will come the ph try :-)

-two dys 20a blheli_s and an esc with a 5v bec
-two superman 1404 3800kv and one f20 II 3250kv
-a pdb
-some wood, broken eclair frame...
-a jumper receiver tx801(?)
-ewrf vtx
-runcam swift with osd
-hq 4inch t-mount biblades (4030x2?)
-hq 3030x4
-green led strap in the back

i mention about build a 5inch whover, probably with an old noisy motorset; it goes a bit dangerous :-(

This is cool, i'm trying to almost the same thing after one of my baby hawk motors blew up.

So are you using a flight controller at all? Or just running the ESCs from the receiver? I guess SBUS won't work then.

I'm using a flight controller with tricopter setup, motors spin up, but cut out as soon as I give it some throttle.

i use no flighcontroller, just a receiver, the motor for uplift is set to a poti, the rear motors are mixed,i only stear the two rear motors; throttle, left-right no other inputs.

it would need receiver with single channels to add signal wires. i use 3 esc each conected to a channel. this way wont work with an aio board, still looking for a reason to use an aio an get the help of a gyro.
does the tricopter settup probably work with the motor invthe back?
one thing to mention is: pitch forward does brake, pitch back gives more uplift: does it probably work if you pitch a bit backward?
