20 As I am trying to learn about "cloud builds", I decided to update my configurator to 1010 RC2 then tried BF 4.5 on a FC. Did NOT get any errors, but locked up after entering bootloader. Decided to just go back to 4.4... same thing. Thought FConfic maybe the issue, reverted back to 10.9 and BF would not launch in windows. Deleted from system, reinstalled. Same thing. 10.8 no change. re-deleted from system went back to original download from 8 months ago. Same thing.. still wont open...
The no launch started after reverting back to a older config version.. any ideas?

20 09-Feb-2024, 03:37 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Feb-2024, 07:51 PM by Rob Axel.) reinstalled 10.10 rc2 opens... let see if it updates fcs.... I may try to revert back to 10.9 and see if it launches, not holding my breath. so be carefull, IF u update your config to this version and have issues you maybe stuck with it.
update. I was able to update another FC but this one gets stuck in "initiating reboot to bootloader" and I have to disconnect the fc and shut down BF. I even tried a older version from a HEX file. same thing.
I have a feeling this FC has finally decided to say enough is enough...its from my 5" basher.. its a MAMBA f405..Its been through hell and back. I think its time to retire it to bench testing.
But why wouldnt Betaflight open / launch in windows??
update: figured I would just fly this rig on BF 4.0.0.. no big right? Well, I had installed a new ESC, updated it to use bi directional D-shot... BUT that wasnt introduced till BF 4.1.1. the quad arms but props dont spin unless I bring up throttle. I also noticed 4.0.0 doesnt have "flip after crash" and for this basher, THAT is a must!
I also tried to update the fc on another computer with config 10.9.. same issue

41 If you are having a massive fail on Betaflight and want to try one more thing, see if you can flash Quicksilver on to the Mamba F405. If it works, you get to stay in the air on it. If it doesn't you haven't really lost anything by trying.

20 10-Feb-2024, 01:21 PM (This post was last modified: 10-Feb-2024, 03:54 PM by Rob Axel.) Apparently I believe it’s the fc, can’t complain about it. I waisted most of the day chasing this, and I should know better.. It was just the combination of BF comfig not launching in windows after installing a older version.. AND it locking up during firmware install..I did try flashing bf 4.1.1.. same thing..
I have that same fc I can pull from my fishing quad..it is currently on 4.0.0.. I’ll put that damaged fc into that and see how it behaves…
All this began when I saw the CPU % up sound 45% and thought “that’s a bit high.. let me try the “cloud build” to bring it down”. This fc on bf 4.0.0 is at 7% and on 4.1,1 45%..
I was under the impression “cloud builds” minimized data and kept the cpu % down for older fc?
update: swapped FCs the cli dump took and all things work ( servo, and camera switch). This is BF 4.0.0 (cpu 7%). took the "new" Mamba tried flashing 4.1.1, and it locked up. Tried a smaller mamba (same target) installed all available versions. Figured my old standby 30x30 bullet proof FCs were done. Then I tried using the bootloader button and DFU mode. loaded all available versions... now for the CPU% BF 4.2.1 or lower its 5-7% above that the percentage goes to 40-45...
My 5" Hdzero rig also has this FC, its on 4.3.1 and its at 40% and Ive had no issues with flights (so far) ..I may start another thread regarding my CPU findings... (nope no need to)
When BF confiurator releases non-RC for 10.10 Ill upload it and see if I can revert back to 10.9 or .8... see if it opens in windows....
Update: apparently there is a jump in CPU usage from 4.3 to 4.4 ( dont quote me), but I was able to bring my % down in 4.3.1 to 15% by dropping the pid loop and de selecting barometer.
