World's Fastest FPV Camera Drone vs F1 Car
#1
For anyone who hasn't already seen the Red Bull video linked to below that was posted yesterday, it's a must watch. Hats off to Dutch Drone Gods for pulling off such a feat.

The quad is using T-Motor motors but it's not clear what size or KV they are (EDIT: It's been confirmed that T-Motor F80 PRO 1900KV motors were used which propelled the quad from 0-300kph in just 4 seconds). Looking at the telemetry data in the FPV view (at time position 6:05 into the video) it appears to be running 8S LiPos (~30V) and either TBS Crossfire or Tracer as the RC Link (LQ is showing 1:xxx). The telemetry also shows that it was pulling up to 3.5G around that particular corner.

Wow!! Seriously amazing. I remember the last drone vs F1 video I watched, and the drone only had the edge for the first few seconds. This is really incredible what they achieved, and who would imagine that phallic shaped drone with tiny (5" or smaller) props would produce such incredible speed/acceleration/endurance. And that they flew analog Smile

Very cool video. Beautiful in it's way. Loved seeing the excitement and awe from the F1 drivers themselves.

Guess there were some precursors to this rocket ship design

30000rpms displayed on the right on 30v would match a motor around 1000kv
but its displayed on 215kph, it might be at least a 1500kv motor for that speed if it was an 8s battery

xD what a messy oad salad xD

That was my thought, why didn’t they use a wing, if a load of inbeds in a Surrey field can get one to do 225+ on a stock 6S/1900kv setup surely drone gods could easily find the extra needed to chase an F1 car.

But I guess that wouldn’t be as “cool”, nor would it be as easy to edit together, I dunno why they banged on about the “we’ve only got one lap to do this in” thing either since the regulations were changed this year to let the teams run for 100kms on filming days with the present car (equal to about 33 laps around Silverstone) but I guess that’s all for the drama and as one person told me, you’re too old and miserable to be the target audience lol

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an impressive feat, but not as “wow world breaking next level” it’s been made out to be, anybody with enough time and money could do this.
