Rant - Do you have one to share?
#1
I don't usually rant, but today has been a frustrating day. I have a Babyhawk which I quite like flying. It is a great indoor flyer. I think this quad is cursed. The camera keeps on breaking due to crash. Poor design. I finally seat down and upgraded the camera and mount. I figure I tried to bind the Radiomaster to it. RM does not bind. I was overwhelmed at the amount of Frsky protocols. There is FrskyRX, Frsky, FrskyX2, and FrskyL plus sub protocols. I figured it was Frsky D16. Made the most sense. I was not sure what FrskyRX was for. Anyways, D16 didn't bind. Tried a few other protocol. Also didn't work. In my head, I thought Radiomaster is giving me problems already. Went back to the Horus. Still couldn't bind. The receiver is XM+. And it was bound before. The quad has sat for 6 months. And somehow it no longer bound. Tried flash every firmware. Still couldn't get it to bind. I concluded that the receiver is bad. I have never had a receiver go bad on me.

Last ditch effort. I am going to put ASSCT 2.0 on it and see if the RM will bind with FrskyX2.

The latest firmware of the multi-protocol module now supports both ACCST 2.0 and 1.0. So maybe you selected the 2.0 protocol on the RM?

I have plenty of rants I can sound off with but I will save them for another day when my blood is actually boiling and I have steam coming out of my ears Big Grin

Regarding what each of the protocols in the multi-protocol module are for, there is a full list HERE. Just click on the name of any protocol in the list and it will take you to a detailed description and state where the inner workings of the protocol was sourced from. A summary of all the FrSky ones are below...
  • FRSKYD --> D8 Protocol; reverse engineered from the D4R and D8R receivers (plus a couple of 3rd part receivers).
  • FRSKYL --> LR12 Protocol; reverse engineered from the L9R receiver.
  • FRSKYX --> D16 v1.x.x Protocol; reverse engineered from the X4R, X6R and X8R receivers.
  • FRSKYX2 --> D16 v2.x.x Protocol; no information on where the protocol was reverse engineered from.
  • FRSKY_RX --> Enables master/slave training with two transmitters.

I tried it last night before going to sleep. It was a let down. Going to have to source a new XM+. I tested the RM with other receiver and it works fine. And my Horus is still bound to everything else. This is my first ever receiver that has gone bad on me.

Oh boy. Very open ended question that I have tons of answers for. Probably piss off a lot of people here. I better take a few deep breaths before I post, hehe.

Let's see....
Virtue signaling people and businesses.
Rioters.
Making "feel good" decisions when facts should rule.
"Autonomous zones"

Among many others, but I'll keep those cards close to my chest....

Rant paused.

Deal
Here's the Deal

10" 6S FR10-G Long Range, 5" 6S Rooster, 5" 6S Badger, 5" 6S QAV-S, 5" 4S Badger, 5" 4S Phreakstyle Slam, 5" 6S Yema, 5" 4S Stark, 3" 4S Gecko, and a 3S 2.5" Tadpole, all of which are Crossfire.  Tinyhawk, Tinyhawk S, and a DJI Spark.  And projects on the bench....

I totally do not understand the rioters. All they are hurting are the business owners that already been impacted by Covid and now this.

The rioters and looters are just extremists who are using the BLM protests as a cover to incite anarchy and violence. It makes absolutely zero sense and just makes things worse than they already are. I have no idea what they are trying to achieve with their actions.
