My sense is the ImmersionRC LapRF and TBS RaceTracker were the ones people were using. I'd gotten a TBS Racetracker myself and it is a steaming piece of crap that doesn't even turn on lol. Returning it hours after getting it. Looking more into these two, I notice that the apps are ridiculously outdated, assuming they even exist - the recommended TBS app is no longer around and the TBS app itself looks to be grossly unsupported. Pretty much the same story for the ImmersionRC one too. Quick google search and there doesn't seem to be any newer versions of a lap timer device for drone racing. • Posts: 21,270 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 Does the RapidFIRE module not have a built in lap timer? The Fusion does. I'm just not so sure I want to invest that much time as I have near 0 experience with Arduino (other than 3d printer stuff and that was ages ago). It is tempting though. • Posts: 6,112 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,286 in 1,833 posts Likes Given: 4,736 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 26-Sep-2020, 07:23 PM (This post was last modified: 26-Sep-2020, 07:24 PM by hugnosed_bat.) it would be great to get timing over the goggle, i beleive it would usable for personal practice. as for racing and more than one pilot, the diy option seems a solid option. possibility to display and configure is very nicely... it keeps a few tries to get it work properly, it will be work. It works by measuring the sound intensity, so you have to place your phone inside the finish gate and then as you fly over it, it should detect and record the lap time. You can use a BT speaker to have it connected to the phone and placed next to you to hear the lap times. This of course only works for only one pilot flying at a time, but I guess that's good enough for you at this point. https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...r.rotorama https://itunes.apple.com/cz/app/rotorama...26381?mt=8 Posts: 1,312 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 832 in 504 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Jul 2018 Reputation: 51 (26-Sep-2020, 07:36 PM)the.ronin Wrote: Oh crap I missed Snow's post. But when clicking the link for iOS, it says not available in my country or region (I’m in the US). Is that correct...? My non-glamorous solution is what Bardwell shared here: . It wouldn’t work great for counting multiple laps as it’s a bit more clunky to read out and reset (click a toggle switch on then off) but works well for a start to finish time. I would assign to a momentary switch but the momentary switches on my Tango 2 are a pain to use (hard to quickly locate and take too much force to press). I believe there is a similar more robust OpenTX lap timer using a LUA script out there as well. Hmm now that I try it I get the same message - and I live in Czech Republic - so the same region as the Rotorama guys. Maybe there's something wrong with the app publishing settings, I'll try to contact them and ask. I also tried with my old Android phone and that works just fine. • Posts: 77 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 46 in 36 posts Likes Given: 86 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 1 NOOB! | BetaFPV Meteor75Lite | BetaFPV LiteRadio2 | BetaFPV VR01 Goggles (with +5.5 readers) Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 539 in 340 posts Likes Given: 819 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 I have the true d module on my goggles and it has a lap timer as well. |
