GEP-F722-BT-HD - Short circuit
#1
Hello everybody.
Following a crash I had with my GepRc MOZ7, I was testing the motors  on the bench, the FC started smoking. The result is shown in the picture below.  Cry

Do you think that the problem was with the FC (possible burned voltage regulator) or there might be a problem with another component (eg ESC or motor) which caused the burning of the FC?

Any ideas are much appreciated!

Battery powered it on the bench, armed it and spinned the motors through the transmitter

If the FC doesn't connect to BF any more, it's probably toast. It looks like a pretty decent scorch mark.

So for starters disconnect it from the ESC and plug a USB cable in and see if it connects. If it doesn't, i'd replace it (and i would probably be very careful with using it while flying if it does still connect).

Actually the FC does connect to the BF but an abnormal think I am noticing is it does not show the 6s battery voltage any more when I plug the battery (hearing 3+2 beeps). If I plug only the battery without the USB connected, the FC does not power up and only 3 beeps are being heard.
What I am guessing is that a 5V voltage regulator (at least) of the FC is faulty but I do not know for sure if ESC needs replacing as well being the culprit for frying the FC...
