FPV Air 2 Simulator
#31
The new map pack became available yesterday, so I bought it but have not tested it much. Will play with it this weekend some and am looking forward to having some different scenery Smile

Not sure what the whole night flying pack was about, skipped it at $10 as I do not race and I do not really fly in the dark. It looks like something that racers might enjoy as there are courses set up in warehouses that its tracks appear to mimic closely.

Essentially, you can have a really fun sim that does not seem to tax computer hardware like Liftoff while providing some decent physics for building muscle memory...all for the low price of about $10 US. Not too much bad to be said!

OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun!  Addicted :)

total newbie here. trying desperately to get this sim up and running. I have installed/uninstalled/changed basically everything i can. i have an FS-i6x and when i connect it and click the button for the transmitter, none of the axis are right. when i change the axis to match the movements i see on the bar graph, either the movements are too small or they are not in line (i.e. throttle starts at about 3/4 with my stick down and as i move it up, it hits 100% at about 1/3 throttle and then drops back down to 1/2 throttle as i continue to move the stick up).
I am using the cable that came with the fs-i6x as i was under the impression that it would work. I have also ordered the fs-i6 simulator cable thinking that might be the problem, but it didn't help either.
I really want to use a simulator before i buy a drone, but as things are going, i am on the verge of giving up completely.
Any help that someone can offer?

Can I ask if you're on windows or another operating system?

If you're on windows you'll want to go to device manager, find your controller, right click on it and go game controller settings, then advanced (I think) and then you should be able to find a calibrate button somewhere, run through the calibration process and see if the stick movements in the window replicate yours.

Once that's done try again.

Edit: here's a tutorial https://www.howtogeek.com/241421/how-to-...indows-10/

Keep us updated, if that doesn't work there's a few other things to try like drivers etc that sometimes get messed up on win10.

I gave it a valiant effort, but no success.  it seems that my right stick isn't mapped and the functions that i would expect to be running through that stick are instead mapped to the twin dials on top center of the transmitter and i don't see how to reassign functions....
Any more advice?

That's pretty standard actually, you can change the mapping in the fpv air 2 controller setup. On each axis where you see the sticks move there is a dropdown and you can change which input moves that stick.

If you get really really stuck I'm happy to use teamviewer to have a go at fixing your problems. Just PM me if you want to try that.

Your Flysky is an actual radio, not the "thing" they sell or sold specifically and only for SIM use, right? Because I had one of those for a while and I was unable to ever get it working even predictably, leave alone correctly. Sorry I'm not much help beyond that, but I'm one of those Frsky lemmings and I use a USB dongle to connect wirelessly. Speaking of which though...there's something about using an RX and FC I think, that you can use to make your own wireless dongle. If you have a little extra hardware lying around, maybe thay's worth looking into, although your issue is almost certainly mapping the functions correctly, not a physical connection issue, so hihhly unlikely to affect your problem. If I think of anything else... oh, and I have an fs-ia6b (think that's correct) you could have if you want to try the wireless thing. If I even remembered that close to correctly. Good luck with it!

Edit: I meant to put in a little bit of a plug for getfpv.com if that's ok to do here. I messed around with that USB controller for like 3 months before saying anything to getfpv about it. I talked to one of their guys on facebook, and they ended up giving me store credit for not only the ~$30 for the controller, but also the ~$15 I'd stupidly paid for quick shipping because I was gung-ho to get simulating. I have no affiliation with them, the thread just reminded me and I like to "spread the love when someone goes above and beyond what I'd expect.
