41 I've wanted to walk/fly in Switzerland and Italy for a year now, but this video is nuts. Thankfully this guy wasn't on his own. If he'd been out walking solo then the outcome might have been very different.

0 This is absolute extreme stupidity, or some mental ilness on the shooter's part. I'm quite dissapointed the author decided not to report it to the local police. I understand not wanting to spend his time at a police station, but he could just emailed them later. I'm not sure how is it in Switcherland, but in most other European countries (including my own) local police has very good records who has guns, what kind, how they are used etc. Also hunting is regulated in a way that it is easy to find records who was hunting where and when. If Police was informed it is quite likely they'd have caught the guy and the least of his problems would be loosing his gun permits(again assuming gun permits in Switzerland work the same as elsewhere in Europe).
Based on the sound the shot was from about a km away. Trying to "scare someone" from such distance is absolute madness or intent to kill.

41 I linked the Swiss Federal Police in via their contact form yesterday. But the video looks to have been shot last year, so what can be done is unknown. I don't think they can pull much from the video either. I tried to isolate the frame out where he passes the hunter and it's a bit too blurry. But the fact some guy was prepared to take that shot tells me it probably isn't the first time. The fact the bullet dropped just in front of him tells me the guy was probably aiming at him. The sound as you say indicated a fair distance which means the guy had to lead his shot and hope the person didn't speed up. It's reckless and I think if he had been on his own, or he'd hit him, he'd have gone over the edge for sure.
I think one of the reasons is because that area is a drone no fly zone and as much as he said he had all the paperwork, he probably wasn't supposed to be mountain diving there. But then i don't think people should be shooting at him for that either. But Switzerland seems to be a random country for guns. Seems almost African level with everyone and there grandmother having a rifle. In some ways it makes sense if you live in the mountains and you have bears to deal with, which you aren't supposed to shoot. But even in the cities they seem to have rifles too. I don't think any European country is like that, at least none of the ones I've been to.
