First time wiring up a quad. Just want to make sure I wire up everything right.
See attached pic.
I was thinking of cutting off the male JST on the camera/vtx wire harness and leave the female end on. Then solder up the male end on the pdb. Does this work?
The PDB/ frame you are using is designed for the Naze32 rev5, so it will be a little bit harder to make a nice and clean layout. You can look if it will fit to mount the SP3 upside down so you can still use the motor connections. If that is possible then you can use also the motor pins next to the arms to plug in there the connector for the ESC's. The pin with S1 S2 S3 S4 are the signal wire, the middle pin is the power connection and the other side is the ground connection. If you are going to use the a 4S lipo then you also have to install a voltage regulator on top or under the LC filter to get the right voltage on camera pads on front of the quad. I don't know if the ESC's have a BEC on board?
I hope you can do something with this information.
If you can provide us more details about the parts you are using, then we can give you a better advice.
This pdb/frame has a voltage regulator on the back side under the LC filter.
Connectors (Ground/Signal) from the DYS XS20A ESC will go the the flight controller instead bypassing the pins on the pdb/frame, and the power wires will go to the motor ESC pads on the pdb/frame. VTX has a 5v output to the camera, so no need to use the one on the pdb/frame, just a JST connector from the VTX to the pdb/frame. Buzzer from pdb/frame to FC buzzer port vBat from pdb/frame to FC vBat port Use the 5v acc on the pdb/frame to power the FC
It does make sense, but i don't think the PDB will make a 5V supply for you but that can you check with a voltage meter. If you are placing the VTX after the filter then you are good to go i think. But what kind of lipo's are you going to use, 3S or 4S? I thought that the voltage regulator is not standard with the PDB/frame, so you have buy it by yourself if you didn't do it already.
