ZMR180 motor suggestion
#1
Hello everyone!

Looks like my ZMR is not powerful enough to carry Yi camera. I'm running 2204 cheap 3s motors + 4045 3 blade bullnose props and the quad lifts at about 35-40% throttle.

What kind of motors would you recommend for 4S setup? I was looking at these:

Ya, don't have that much budget. Maybe a multistar elite from HK, I have an unused set. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...r_CW_.html

Have you tried them?

okay Smile but if you are going to buy new motors, check them out Smile

these new motors really make a difference to the mini quad performance, smooth and more power Smile
you will probably also find it easier to tune as well!

Have you seen MiniQuadTestBench? Lots of motors tested with lots of props on there.

For 4 inch props, you may want look beyond the 2300kv motors to something with 2600 to 2700kv rating. Any higher and yea you get higher prop speeds but battery life (flight time) is a concern...

For my upcoming 180 build, I went with the new DYS MR2205 2750kv motors (set of 4 for $55 at BG) and DYS XM20A esc's ($10.50 each at HK).

Also, I see the RCX2205 V2 motors recommended quite a lot ($13 from PiroFlipRC if you're in USA). Beware the motor bell is prone to getting bent slightly in bad crashes depending on the frame and how much protection the arms give.

Haha, finally ended with DYS 2300KV race edition ones.
