Hello, its time for me to make this happen I'm extremely excited to get a quadcopter its really the perfect hobby for me. I'm looking to build a extremely fast, reliable fun quad within a 1500$ or less budget. I've been into rc cars and helicopters since I was young. Looks like a good build. I just built mine with the NAZE32 Rev 5 Flight Controller using Cleanflight (moving to Betaflight shortly). I can recommend that one, well, because Oscar recommended it to me! hehe. It is great fun.

Make sure to buy a good soldering iron, if you can afford it get a soldering station I got a nice one for about $75.00 US. Aoyue 2930 Programmable Lead Free Soldering Station. You will want precision hand tools that can remove  various metric screws from M2.0 - M4.0 probably. Solder, wire cutters, etc etc. 

It is a great hobby and wonderful sport! jump right in!

I,m not sure about those Motors. Why do you choose 1806 instead of 2204 or 2205? For the FC i would go for the x-racer f303 v2:

You also should consider choosing the x4r-sb receiver, because the d4r do not have sbus.

Haha.

Hasn't the fire issues been sorted though? Most of the reports you find are from middle last year.

The previous KISS 18A version was a nightmare LOL.. the new ones seems better especially the 24A Race edition way more reliable!
