XBEE-SR New build
#1
so after exploding 2 of my race quads at my last MultiGP race i started looking for a new frame. i came across the XBEE-SR which looked great in pictures so i decided to give it a go. the pictures i seen online does not do this frame any justice. the first thing right off the bat when i got the frame is the packaging.

it comes in this black box, with instructions on how to assemble. which is pretty straight forward. next is every part comes individually separated. even the screws were separated by size. the carbon is one of the best carbon fiber i have felt, and i've been through dozens of different frames.

i haven't done a build log in a while, not because i haven't been building. just haven't found a build worth sharing with everyone. but i feel this frame deserves a build log.
so for this build i'm going to go full RaceFlight.
RaceFlight V2 Skitzo Edition
RacrFlight Bolt 4 in 1 ESCs
Tiger F40 Pro 2400kv Motor
Tramp VTX
Foxeer Arrow V3 (since RaceFlight doesn't have OSD)
FrSky XM+ RX

If you want an osd, I think you can use a micro minimosd with raceflight. I haven't tried it myself but I would assume that you get the current consumption from the escs current sensor as well?

Nice, I do like some of these latest frames with the thin arms to reduce obstruction of airflow.

What is the size of the frame? also what size props are you going to be using with that? I kind of get a sense from comparing the size of the FC but it's hard to pinpoint. I am guessing the frame is a 250?

it is a 220 stretched X Carl. i'm going to be running 5" props on it.

you are correct RF does support the minimosd but i don't feel like going through all the trouble of flashing and installing. i'm going to take the lazy way out lol. since all i really use is the battery read out.

something about the thinness of those arms make them look very long! I would have never guessed that it's a 220.

here's the FC, ESCs, and RX wired up.

here's what it looks like with the motors

the more this quad is coming together the better it looks. although i already see an issue with the motor wires. "Prop Strikes". so i'm going to have figure something out. i could run them down the inside of the arm, but since these are F40 Pros, and have 18awg wires it makes it a little difficult.

The motors look massive on that frame, like Popeye's forearms!

You could use a piece of propeller as wire protector

Maybe run the wires through a short piece of CF tubing in the "strike zone"?

I was actually thinking the exact same thing Tongue.

What about splitting the CF tube so you can just put it over the wires instead of pulling the wires through?
