X6 / X8
#1
Hey everyone,

i need some help with choosing parts for an X6 / X8 flying videoplatform.

as far as i got i had the Antigravity 4006 from RC Tiger in mind.
Top side with something like 16x4 and bottom side like 14x6.5

Has anyone every build an X6/X8 (coax config) and can give me some tips & tricks?
Is this enough for an X6 to lift my DSLR (about 1kg) for 20 minutes?

Just had racer-Quads and wings until now ^^

Cheers
Diego

Most of the time, the coax I have seen uses similar props top and bottom though. Whether it will carry your camera and have a flight time of 20mins...You're gonna need ecalc for that.
6S?

I'm totally open about this build.
My biggest packs only have 3700mAh at 4S, so i guess i still need new LiPos.

I will definitley go two prop sizes (areo-engineer here) xD

But i am really overwhelmed by all the motors out there.
That's where you all come in ^^

Spinning large props like that you're definitely looking at some low KV motors, say 400KV for a start? I know I tried 400KV on 15" props before and you should really do 6S, not sure if you can get enough RPMs with a 4S. Can't really go wrong with T-Motors though or you could try KDEDirect too. Those two companies have some of the most reliable motors out there.

Oh oh and before I forget, I have read that there are sync issues with these low KV motors with BLHeli and SimonK ESCs. I am not sure if this has been resolved yet. There are certain models of T-motor ESCs that are designed for low KV usage and the XRotor ESC series from Hobbywing as well.
