X210 (QAV-X clone) poor carbon quality

Oh wow that does look better, thanks. I actually considered the present version of that frame but over looked it cause the other banggood clones weren't interchangeable with the Lumenier frames. I haven't put a cam on my X210 because it's cool in theory but sucks in actuality. I think if the so called 4mm shows up as 3mm I might throw soft mounting my FC out the window and swap over to a Hyperlite. I just delivered another batch of FPV cam mounts to the guys at Pyroflip and they kinda made me feel guilty I wasn't flying the frame ther're going on. If anyone here hasn't heard of that frame yet you should check it out. It's pretty bad ass, and everyone sold put's a couple bucks in my pocket.

I will give it another week and if the replacement frame does not arrive or it is not 4mm, I will not bother with it. I have a few other frames sitting around, including an H210 - which has been fantastic. Most likely I will order an authentic 4mm QAVX tho, I really liked how it flew.

My replacement showed up today! Good news it's 4mm. I'll have to compare the rigidness to Jimmy's true QAV this weekend. Regardless I'm sure I'll get $27 worth of crashing it before (or if) the carbon layers delaminate like yours did. Besides I still have the 3mm to give me a few more crashes after that.

Keep us posted. I am very interested in how it compares with the real QAV-X. I am still waiting for my clone replacement.

My experience so far with the realacc x210 3mm frame I bought from aliexpress has been good. I have had some crashes and one where I was quite sure the frame was destroyed, but the only damage so far is some minor delamination at the end of an arm. I guess that it is a bit hit and miss with this frame

Update: I received a replacement from Crazepony. It is 4mm this time and feels much stiffer. Carbon looks better but flying will tell. Hopefully I can find time to swap the guts before this weekend.

I maidened mine yesterday in the front yard that end with it cartwheeling across the neighbor's driveway. The carbon on the end of one arm splintered away instead of the normal grinding I'm used to. Too soon to tell but I have a feeling that epoxy used by the manufacture of the carbon fiber is cheap or could even be using polyester resin which it doesn't seem like. Or I'm just over reacting... let me go crash some more first right? Whistling

Rebuild complete. Flew few times with KISS RC29-2, there are some minor tuning issues at low throttle but overall the quad handles great. It survived the first few minor crashes, but more is needed to tell if the carbon quality is better. Here is a quick clip of it flying on 4S and 5S - same tune and props.

I had the 4mm version and used DYS F4/All-in-one 20A ESC stack (on DSHOT600) with Gemfan 2306/2600kv motors and DALPROP 5046C Cyclone tri-blades.  It was wicked fast, maneuverable, smooth as silk, and looked great, nice and clean.  At first it was literally awesome.  Lumenier created an awesome design, which Realacc copied.  No surprise that it flew awesome when I finished building it.

Yes, I used past tense, all that being said...

After flying about 15 4S 1300mAh packs through it, one of the RealACC X210 frame arms broke off at the base of the arm during a full throttle punch out in open air while doing freestyle acro without even hitting anything.  You can see de-lamination where it failed, the layers did not break off evenly.

I had never crashed this frame hard, and had motor TPU 3d printed protectors on the ends of the arms which were not even scuffed.  The frame was spotless without even a scratch on it, still basically brand new.  Just a full trhottle punch out did this!!

This is not a racing frame as far as I am concerned.  I have other 4mm unibody frames that have been crashed full throttle into concrete and they are still flying, and even though they are a bit ground up on the edges and the quad is more noisy than it used to be, they have not de-laminated.

If you already have this frame, it might be a good idea to seal the edges with CA glue to strengthen the carbon fiber, but I am not sure how much that would help.  Supposedly Realacc has sourced better 3K and have a new 6K version now if that tells you anything.

(BTW, RealACC, feel free to reach out and send me a new frame that has been checked for quality and I will be more than willing to edit this post, but only after I build and test it.)
