X-Racer F303 Board, LEDs in Cleanflight

The LEDs are another issue.  Am i correct in assuming that pin29(PA8) on the processor puts out data at 3.3v and the LED strip (WS2812) works on a data input of around 5v, kinda like sonar?  In that case, a couple of diodes and a 10k resistor should couple data and both get the voltage they like while sharing the same 5v power supply...

Thanks for your help, I love to build... but this damn programming thing...

Im working on feasability study for the Xracer project, looking at mods, size and weight...  I hope to come up with a "bulletproof" FC

It is the standard VBAT circuitry, used on all FC's. Good for 6S. (6x4.2/11 = 2.3V)

As said, the classic way of connecting WS2812 to a 3.3V signal is to lower supply voltage with one diod in series. Can't see how two diodes and a resistor would be connected. A non-inverting transistor stage would be fine.

Just did the VBAT and LED_STRIP mods on one X-racer F303. Works fine, not sure the mod is flight worthy even though I secured most of the add-ons with some small CA-drops... Liquid tape all over it would probably help.
I also added a 5V regulator and soldered a beeper directly to the Fc. Mounting holes are not at the std 30.5mm spacing, had to adjust them slightly, now they are bit oval. Had to order a Spektrum satellite connector separately and solder in. Quite a lot things missing in the basic design and a lot of work to get it where I want it.

Checkout it out:

Is the max voltage going to the Vbat pin 3.3V? Is there a reason I should use different resistors that would give me a voltage closer 3.3V compared to the 1K and 10K or will it make a difference?

Yes, max input voltage to the chip is 3.3V. (Absolute max before things start to smell is really VDD+0.3V. Don't go there....)
The voltage divider can be anyway you want it. The 1K + 10K is the default 1/11 divider in CleanFlight Configurator. Change config to match what ever resistors you have selected.

Have these issues been resolved in the v2?

I don't have one on hand to test, so far they are only available for pre-order and have not been released yet.  The only difference I see so far is V2 has vbatt and RSSI pads on the bottom of the board.

They also added pins for LEDS, wish they would have done the board like this in the first place.

Looking forward to a review on the v2 from Oscar Smile.

you can use SK9822 LED STRIP ,this led chip can be addressable and have data and clock , and it work 5V , then it can work with the X-Racer F303 using cleanflight
